Trek 2.0

If Trek XI goes the way of Batman, same characters, places, but new storylines, rules, events... what does the future hold.

Could be possibly see things that they dare not show us 40 years ago?

Could the Enterprise actually screw up for once? and I mean screw up big time like start wars or cause countless deaths.

Could there be romance with the crew? Every other star trek series had the crew falling all over each other but TOS only really hard a nurse with a crush.

Could we have actual long lasting consciquences? In TOS the characters were always back to normal by the start of the next episode... What would happen if a main character lost an arm or a leg?

I wouldn't mind seeing them screw up from time-to-time, but I think causing countless deaths would be going too far. If the Enterprise's actions caused countless deaths, I don't think Captain Kirk would have ever been promoted to Admiral -- then again maybe he doesn't in your new storyline. Nevertheless, I think that would be too great a change for me.

And please, no love affairs between members of the "regular" crew. I don't mind Kirk schtupping alien women or 'Mirror Sulu' wanting to jump Uhura's bones, but please no long-term romantic relationships amongst the regulars.

And while we're on the topic of losing arms and legs, maybe we will see how Scotty loses his finger in this film ;)

Indeed. I always wondered why everyone on TNG was asexual.

It all starts from the top down, baby. Kirk was just dripping in mojo. Picard, not so much.

Naw! We found out early that Data was "fully functional" and programmed with many sexual techniques -- and we found out that Tasha would be a great date, because all you would need to do is buy her three or four drinks to get her into bed with you.

 I've never thought about that point before! If they didn't chop Pegg's finger off before filming, or air-brush it out afterwards, I'm boycotting!!!!

Ahhh, com'on...the SG-1 team was responsible for starting a world destroying war on the planet with the Ori satellite that destroyed the Prometheus.

So why not Kirk and crew?

Kirk's big screw up in The Wrath of Khan, causing several deaths among his crew, wasn't big enough for you?

I heard Spock botched the acetylcolene test . . . once.

Didn't the Organia treaty carry over into Trouble with Tribbles?
