Kind of disappointed the Maximals look like robotic animals in their beast mode. But maybe this is a necessary evil? IE, they likely felt it difficult if not impossible to create realistic looking CG animals, so they just decided to go with an intentionally mechanical look just to avoid the inevitable criticism.

God I was such a huge fan of Beast Wars as a kid. My internal 12 year old so happy seeing Primal and glimpses of Cheetor, Rhinox, and Airrazor.

I wouldn't object to a full Beast Wars movie as long as it's even halfway decent.

So this is still a soft reboot/prequel and they still aren't doing Unicron?

I liked the Bumblebee movie because it seemed to be getting away from the Bay films but this seems to be heading back towards their style....

Excited to see Prime and Primal together though.

I'm disappointed that Rattrap and Dinobot aren't going to be in this.

The designs look great though, I can actually tell what I'm looking at.

Is this a separate continuity from the Bay and Bumblebee movies? Looks ok but i'm kinda transformed out of the entire thing. Bumblebee was a cool movie though, would have liked to see this style continue.

It's a sequel to Bumblebee, which was a soft-reboot of the Bay movies.

I've seen rumours that this will lead into Unicron.

That the Terrorcon are his heralds.

Taking the deeply mediocre Bumblebee and getting rid of Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena for the follow-up?

More likely, they wanted to make new the new robots as big-ass as all the other big-ass robots, and figured that depicting animals of obviously incorrect sizes would be endlessly distracting.

I assume it might also look kind of odd (and wrong) in live action to have things like a cheetah head strapped to Cheetor's chest.

I wonder how that works though since this is something of a prequel movie...

Press releases have said there are Predacons in the movie, but I don't remember any name drops.

The Terracon leader is Scourge, who in the G1 lore, was created by Unicron

It's a sequel to bumblebee which was while originally intended to be a prequel to the Bay movies, became a reboot later. So Rise of the Beasts is not a prequel to anything.
