What the hell is that giant thing supposed to be? A giant mining dump truck is the only thing I can think of with tires that huge but it has four not 2.

if that slashfilm article is right about 3 motorcycles, that's ALL Arcee, she's apparently 3 motorcycles, not one. probably that can combine, in order to make her bigger.

Why? Transformers have a long history of having autonomous units combine into a larger whole. Tactically it makes sense to be able to have "extensions" of yourself perform operations on the field simultaneously. In a way, the first example of this was from the very first line, where Optimus Prime, Combat Deck and Roller were all tied to each other, and any damage felt by one was felt by the other. This is also no different than Omega Supreme, who was a tank and rocket ship with tracks combining into one large robot.
This concept would later extend to combiners who were autonomous units that combined into a new entity with its own distinct identity.

Oh pellets! You know, over at the Trek XI forum, people there are hoping that the next Trailer doesn't give too much away. To save the story for the movie. To give the audience eye candy. Now, in Revenge Of The Fallen, we have a trailer that does just that, and people are complaining about that. I know there are people who hate Michael Bay. I have a solution for you. Skip the movie! You want it to fail? Tell others to do the same. Me? I'm going to watch it with my 10 year old son, as I did two years ago, and experience it through his eyes and marvel at the world as I marveled at TF when it first premiered 25 years ago. All you other whiny, jaded, cynical fanboys can eat it. Hard!

Yeah, you have a point there, but the issue I have is that it looks like three separate pieces running around then combine to make the motorcycle(?). Maybe I'm rushing to judgement. I know the cartoons used Roller only a couple of times, and we could never figure out how Omega Supreme's launch base followed the rocket to the moon and other locales
That statement makes about as much sense as a football bat.
The carrier wouldn't have rumpled like that if hit, but the sinking scene was interesting. FYI, the USS America was intentionally sunk over a three day period to see what it would take to sink a super carrier. Her design isn't as advanced as those of the Nimitz class, but she took one hell of a beating before finally sinking. There were a lot of sensors to record the data for study, but had the sinking been filmed it would have been great to see in a future movie of some sort.
Based on early reports, it's three motorcycles that combine into one robot. One of the motorcycles is confirmed as having a robot mode by itself (via leaked photos of the toy a while ago). This could all be debunked by the time the movie comes out, but a trio of motorcycles was spotted on set several times.
