It probably won't happen, but it is a common trope to expand a minor character's role in the episode in which they are killed off.

I've always found it fascinating that many of the guys in that scene are proudly facing forward but the ladies are either standing sideways, have their hands in front of them or have a tunic that extends down. I guess the director didn't want any 'camels' showing up on the set that day.
I'm predicting this is the episode we learn of Chris Pike's Christian upbringing. (Yes I'm weirdly on board with a crazy and very possibly character-ruining rumour from the shitshow corners of Facebook)
This is a total aside, but I find it very weird - given the number of Jewish actors and writers involved in Trek over the years - that we haven't had a single hint that any at least culturally Jewish people survive even into the era of Enterprise.
