Trailer 3: Audience Reaction

I went to the Watchmen at the Weekend and they showed the latest trailer.

The audience were quiet until Kirk drove up to the Enterprise under construction and then there was a ripple of "Star Trek" through the surrounding rows.

Just got back from seeing Watchmen. For some inexplicable reason they showed the first version of the teaser trailer (the one made before the date was pushed back to May 2009).

Theatre was fairly empty - only about 2 dozen people in all. There were some 12 year old (approx) kids in the row in front of me - half way through Nimoy's "Space.. the final frontier.." one of them said something like "This is for nerds!". Then they had a chuckle that the promo ended with "Coming Christmas 2008" and said "Ha! It's a bit late!".

I felt like giving them a clip around the ear, but hey what you gonna do..
:wtf: WOW! You were ''FAR'' more restrained then I would have been! and who the HELL lets 12 year old ''kids'' in to a HARD-R movie?:wtf:
Went and saw Watchmen Saturday night and the theater was packed absolutely full. They showed a trailer for some horror flick and the audience was dead silent. The Star Trek trailer was next and at various points i could hear people around me saying "cool" or "holy crap". When the trailer ended there was a noticeable "buzz" in the air. People were whispering and talking to each other. I heard a few more comments like "awesome" and "that looks good." The best comment of all was from a row or two behind me, i overheard a girl say "I don't even like Star Trek, but i am so going to see that!"

Aside from that i thought that Watchmen was pretty good. And that Terminator Salvation trailer was pretty kick ass too.
The comment ''I don't even like Star Trek, but I am so going to see that!'' is pretty much the same responce my sister gave, so I am hopefull this movie will bring NEW people to TREK.:techman:

It could be worse. I think I posted on here before that when I went to see RoboCop 2, I saw a preview for... RoboCop 2.
Man that ''SUCKS'' you got TWICE the crap!

My 16 year old brother who doesn't really like Trek saw Watchmen yesterday, and he got the Trek XI trailer. He said it looked awesome. I think there is hope for this film yet. If it can even get non-Trekkies going 'Whoa, that was Trek?', i think thats a pretty good sign.

My house-mate who is a major major STAR WARS fan and often mocks me for liking TREK, saw the trailer and now hes going in May to see the movie with me on my birthday...

we are winning

Watchmen carries a "MA15+" rating around here. I estimated their age at about 12 but they may have been older, and besides it's not like they ask them for ID at cinemas for MA15+ rated films.

After the god awful SW prequels, how could you possibly allow him to mock you at all about TREK?

We had TATV and actually I don't mind the prequels though EP 1 is the weakest SW movie IMO but anyway back to Trek ;)

Watching Kyle XY and there advertising the TREK movie  characters were talking about the franchise and mentioned theres a new movie in may.

Burns: Have the Rolling Stones killed!
Smithers: But sir, that guy that yelled out STAR WARS in the Trek XI trailer wasn't the Rolling Stones!
Burns: Do as I say!

Same thing happend here. Trailer 3 is a great trailer, and people are taking notice of it.

Saw watchmen today after work. It seemed like a decent attempt at condensing everything, but a few parts should have been reduced and others increased to make more sense for those who did not read he comic. Anyway, there was a surprisingly huge reaction to the ST trailer! I haven't heard that in ages. There were a few "woos" and some clapping. Pretty amazed at that.

RAMA

Saw Watchmen today no Trek trailer of course the Regal I went to has a new I-max theater inside it and Watchmen was available in I-max so that could be a reason, lucky bastards (the people who saw in I-max).
