T'Pring was a missed opportunity

Star Trek V and Star Trek Enterprise get some heat for giving us Vulcan villains, but it started with T'Pring. And "Amok Time" left a lot of room to explore her character. They should have brought her back for a second episode.

I suggest "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" as a natural fit. Keep the basic story idea, but with T'Pring instead of Miranda Jones. I love Diana Muldaur, but from a dramatic standpoint, T'Pring would have the advantage of being Spock's ex, and a demon from Hell as far as he's concerned.

Instead of Kirk scamming on Miranda Jones, with no real emotional consequences for anyone, we could have T'Pring scamming on Kirk, and Spock not liking it. So, a hotter episode.

Meh. T'Pring appears in the excellent novel Spock's World (she's still a villain with a spiteful attitude).

And there's no shortage of T'Pring/Stonn and T'Pring/Spock fanfic around.

Well, I was not aware of that. But there is still a pronounced shortage of Arlene Martel playing T'Pring on the original series.

I don't know. T'Pring appears to me to be more of the cold and calculating type than the spiteful one.

She is Vulcan, so she approached her situation logically. Clearly she had misgivings about Spock as a mate, whether it was as an officer in Starfleet then he could never return to father/raise children, or as a Vulcan/Human hybrid we may not have been of sufficient "breeding stock" for T'Pring, or any of dozens of other possibilities. Her solution must've made sense to her.

I think the world needs some Spock/Stonn fanfic now

:angryrazz: I have no idea what anyone would see in Stonn.

I'm kicking around an idea for a Kirk/T'Pring fanfic (the premise being that Kirk won the fight and decided not to release T'Pring so she could be with Stonn).

Spock would be dead though.

It might mean they appreciate their pleasures more deeply, owing to their relative scarcity.
