Toys out early!

I'm going to have to get one of those... an old Enterprise model got smashed by a clumsy electrician a while back and needs replacing :(.

I gotta say I'm kinda impressed with what Playmates has done with the Enterprise. Yeah, its got a few classic Playmates design problems (screws not hidden, some parts appear bulky, etc.) but the lighting is pretty impressive (minus the light bleed.) Did anyone notice that the nacelles are pushed forward a little more than on the actual model/ship in the film? Makes the whole thing look more compressed. Wonder why they did that.

NICE SHIP!:D ME LIKEY! But is it just me, or is the saucer section in this picture have a up-turn at the bow?

& I REALLY like this shot!:D look at that! even the lights under the ''BRIDGE'' light up!

Cant wait to pick this up, although it suffers the same light bleeding problem Art Asylum's NX-01 had. Although chances are this ship was made by Art Asylum and Playmates just stuck their name on it.

I like how posable it is on it's stand, never seen a Trek model do that.

I don't like how the lights shine though the plastic in areas it shouldn't.

Do the lights/sound effects have different modes?

Is that how it came out of the box or was some assembly required?

 I know, what a worthless thing to keep fresh, but it was a gift intended as a "collectible" so I am obliged.

........does the Enterprise Playmates toy have a feature where if you hold down the bridge button the lights will stay on?

Before Art Asylum took on the ST licence (for ENT and TOS), its sculptors were sculpting numerous figures for the last few waves of Playmates' previous 4.5" figures, such as Andorian w/ serape and Gorn, and 12" Ambassador Shras.

Nope. It is purely Playmates. Art Asylum had nothing to do with the production of the toy (I visit there regularly).

I myself would like to see what Diamond Select would do on this version of the Enterprise.

First step, ALL LIGHTS ON mode!

I so bad want to get the 3/4" figures, but if I want a normal looking set I'll have to get two Spocks and two...Sulus? (Either Sulu or Chekov end up in their cadet uniforms with these figures, along with McCoy.)...

...McCoy and Chekov in standard uniforms aren't in WAVE 1 of the toys, but they'll be along in wave 2 in the Autumn. It's not like Playmates is only releasing 10 3.75" figures, so relax!

Do you know this for a fact? Where'd you hear this?
