For a while there it seemed like in the post-
Scanner Darkly world we might get more interesting looking PKD films, but besides this year's
The Adjustment Bureau - a perfectly acceptable Dick-goes-Bourne flick - no luck.
But I guess I'd remember this is a remake of
Total Recall and not another adaption of
We Can Remember It For You Wholesale (it'd be nice to see a film ending that included the twist ending from the short story but I digress).
And the lead for that movie wasn't a nebbish, insecure PKD protagonist, but Arnold Schwarzenegger - the same kind of guy you cast Jason Momoa to star in a remake of a film starring him that only loosely resembles the source material.
So ah, Colin Farrel fits that more expansive, generic leading man role well enough.
