Total Recall (1990) on BluRay = crap

I picked up the movie at Walmart today in the $5 bin. I should have read the reviews of the Blu Ray transfer first. I thought I was watching a well worn video tape rental. Get what you pay for, I guess.

One of the reasons I don't buy older movies on bluray all the time, no matter how cheap they are, is because a lot of times the transfer are horrible. I'll just watch the dvd instead.

I might be mistaken but I think "Total Recall" has had two transfers to blu-ray one in 2006 and one in 2012. The 2012 version is the better transfer

Thanks for that tip, did a quick search and found that version, so I think I'll be buying that one soon. Total Recall is one of those horribly good movies, imo.

Luckily I'd read about this and held off getting the original Blu-ray. I do now have the 2012 redone version, and it looks awesome.

Yes it the UK 2012 steelbook transfer I have. Though there is a USA 2012 transfer of the film
