TOS: Remastered Edition

Transk53

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
With this DVD, should I Disc swap to watch the EP's in chronological order, or would it not matter too much. It has been years since I have had the pleasure of watching TOS. As such, if I will miss any lil bits that are mentioned in later EP's, is it bettter to Disc swap for the EP timeline? Thanx.

TOS was written in an era when episode callbacks were very rare. You can kinda see the show evolving, esp. during the first dozen or so eps, but nothing big.

I would be sure to watch Where No Man Has Gone Before first. If want to watch The Cage first, that'd be even better, but I think it's on the season 3 set.

Otherwise, you don't have to worry about jumping around.

It's more of an issue in the first season, less so in S2 and S3. In the first half of S1 at least, you can see the progression of when different elements first appeared - Spock's neck pinch, the existence of the shuttlecraft (why didn't they use it in Enemy Within? - because they hadn't built it yet), the Vulcan/Romulan connection, the ever changing name of the Federation/Starfleet/UESPA/UFP, nailing down the timing of how far from present day the series takes place. If you watch them out of production order, all that will be even more confusing.

I trust that by "chronological order" you mean production order? 'Cause if you're thinking of something like stardate order, you'll drive yourself nuts.

My last watch through was in the original televised order. I enjoyed it just fine.

TOS is such that it really doesn't make much difference. Although I guess the change of cast and uniforms in "Where No Man..." is a little jarring when it's episode six.
