TOS Hanger in the TOS E

Certainly. After all, the shuttle does land on what TPTB considered a turntable-elevator.

If we're looking at the main landing bay here, the second, low-hanging version of the TOS-R gallery is the more plausible one, given the general dimensions of things. However, the opposite trapezoid alcove should be seen peeking from behind both ends of the shuttle, if only just.

These added galleries aren't part of the VFX reels one can find on YouTube - apparently, the person putting together the reels missed the subtle additions.

True, only obsessive types like myself would notice such things :techman:
I'm still not completely convinced by the whole remastered concept - but attention to minor details like this score major kudos points with me.

RE: Hanger / Hangar deck

Just to add some fuel to the debate...

Does that mean that there's a Hanger Deck and a Hanger Deck on the Enterprise?

...Also, is Decker hiding behind a corner of the landing area's unseen forward end - or does the unfamiliar scenery establish that he's on the separate underfloor hangar deck whose doorway shapes aren't established elsewhere as being contrary to what we see?

No, he's still on the corridor set - this shot is just before he runs down it a short way. The grill you see is the one on the alcove usually marked "Enviromental Engineering Personel Only"

It means they have two different guys engraving signs, and only one of them knows how to spell it right!
