TOS Fans - Your favorite non-Trek TV Series

From the Earth to the Moon

--------
Current favorites:
Mad Men
Boston Legal
Battlestar Galactica
Heroes
Lost

Incredible Hulk, Buck Rogers, Murder, she wrote, Little house on the prairie, The A-team, Mission Impossible, TZ, Voyagers.

My second favorite after Star Trek is either Heroes or Lost - both are still works in progress. With Heroes, the deciding factor will be whether they can keep up the quality level after the first season. With Lost, I won't really be able to judge till the final moments of the final episode because of course they will hold the resolution of the mystery till then - if they come up with something that makes sense but surprises me, I'll be very impressed. Right now, it seems like they've gone well past the point where anything could make sense, but we'll see... :D

Pushing Daisies is now a contender, but after ONE episode, I can't say anything for sure. Futurama also deserves a mention. The X-Files, Farscape and the new BSG have their ups and downs, but the ups are very far up. Firefly had a lot of potential but I'm the type who wants to wait for a full season before I start to solidfy my opinion and even then, I'd rather wait to see if they can keep the quality up after a full second season. That's the real acid test.

Another contender and definitely my favorite non-sci-fi series of all time: Dexter. Once again, can they maintain the level of quality that they showed in S1? Dexter's premise requires a delicate balancing act to pull off and there are things they can never do, unless they want to go off in risky new directions - but not to do those things runs the risk of becoming stale.

Favorite comedy of all time: Entourage.

My second favorite show still hasn't been listed, and I am a bit suprised. Season 1 of Kung Fu absolutely rocks. Really beautiful stuff. Seasons 2 and 3 go way downhill, though. Get the DVD if you haven't seen it in years.

Kung Fu is top notch. David Carradine has said that he crafted Caine's mannerisms after Spock. Maybe that's why many TOS fans like it ....

Other good shows (some not mentioned yet):
Rawhide
The Twilight Zone (60's)
The Outer Limits (60's)
The Six Million Dollar Man
The X-Files
Highlander
Best one-season show: Nowhere Man

I loved that show too. Not only was it a great show, they shot it where I live. My office and company logo is even in one episode.

Hawaii Five-O
Mission: Impossible (1st series)
Hogan's Heroes
The Rat Patrol
MacGyver
Space: 1999
Batman: The Animated Series
Planet of the Apes (TV Series)
NCIS
CSI: Miami
Jericho
Criminal Minds
Unsolved Mysteries
Myth-Busters

Favorite? Hmmm.

It's not the usual (stuff like "Lost" and other network shows bore the hell outta me) but if I have to choose, it would be the History Channel's "Megadisasters" :rommie:

I guess if I have to chose a traditional one, "Jericho" would do as well as others. It's deeply flawed and annoying at times, but I'm still watching. That says something. What, I do not know.

It says you're in love with Skeet Ulrich! Yeah that's the only reason I keep watching too. Love that buck-toothed WTF look he always has on his face.

It returns in February 2008

Fav shows currently:

Heroes
24
Lost
Battlestar Galactica
NCIS
Doctor Who

In no particular order:
Twilight Zone (60's)
Bewitched
Still Standing
Family Guy (first 3 seasons)
Freaks and Geeks
Firefly!
M*A*S*H
The Office (American)
Are You Being Served?
Good Neighbors
Most Rowan Atkinson series
Danger UXB

And my all-time favorite (non-trek):

***Friday Night Lights.***

If you're not watching it you should be!

If Star Trek is my first favorite than I would have to say either Mary Tyler Moore or Bewitched would be my second favorite. I love tv though so I have multiple shows over several decades that I really love but those two are at the top of my list.

I do think that Star Trek was and still is the greatest TV show of all time!

That being said, I don't have a whole lot of love for modern TV, which is why I watch barely any TV anymore.

My other favorite show has to be without a doubt

M*A*S*H.

The fact that the writers and actors could continue to put out such excellent work for over 11 years speaks volumes as to it's quality.

In a close second, Gilligan's Island, another excellent three-year show cut off in it's prime, another poor decision made by short-sighted network execs.
*Sigh* Thank goodness for reruns

Tomalok, when referring to I, Claudius are you referring to the 1977 TV series/mini-series produced by the BBC? That's all I can find on Amazon. I'm guessing it is, and that you are also British, based on your spelling of the word "program." : )

Babylon-5
Deadwood
Firefly
Stargate Atlantis
Rome
Twilight Zone
4400
Outer Limits
Lexx
Farscape
Magnum P.I
Jericho
Tales from the Crypt
SAAB

Doctor Who
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Arrested Development
Strangers with Candy

I've also enjoyed the NuBSG, but I can't say I've seen much of it...
