TOS-era Repulse Class 3D Model Project

Jeh

Hello,

I enjoy Trek-RP and have been looking to start a TOS-era RP and so started searching for the perfect ship on which to set it...

That's how I discovered @AdmiralBuck's amazing work and found his brilliant design for a TOS-era Repulse-class cruiser. See: https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/repulse-class-heavy-destroyer-tos-design.283452/

After reaching out to @AdmiralBuck he graciously agreed to let me model his Repulse-class cruiser design in 3D and sent me some hi-res orthographic artwork to help my endeavour.

My plan is to fully model and texture this gorgeous ship class, and then to proceed with the development of detailed deckplans along with a MSD.

I will provide periodic updates on my progress in this thread and would love to hear any feedback!

Yes, looks like you’re off to a great start with this. This has such interesting lines.

Made some adjustments to the aft section and lower hull after some feedback from @AdmiralBuck! Ignore the temporary textures, they are there mainly to help me see the geometry better. The two hangar bays are next, along with finishing the nacelles and then detail elements and lights. Lastly once the model itself is optimized will be texturing and decals!

Here's a few pictures of what I did.. 7-8 years ago, mainly for 3d printing.

Nice! I've been trying to incorporate many of AB's refit changes. I found the most difficult part thusfar were the nacelle pylons. Did you find them a bit tricky at all?

@Jeh
Found the whole thing a bit tricky, just went off the ortho's as best I can, and have Bill comment if they look good. Just trial and error.
