TOS era Medium Range Multi-Role Wessle

I've always been a fan of this style of ship (though not as much as the Enterprise! ;)), so when I started this drawing, I started with the cross section and began with the saucer and worked out from there. I wanted to make sure that the major plumbing of the ship was accounted for.

Though the cross section shows some items intersecting with other items, in reality, they would go around each other. I just didn't have a real way to represent that in the drawing.

You can see about 100 crew members in the cross section- and that's just the centre line of the ship- so it's got more then enough room for her 200 +/- compliment.

More in a bit- I have to go from breakfast and just got in trouble... 35 years old and I'm getting in trouble for being late for breaky?!

Looks impressive for something that looks done on MsPaint :techman:

Thanks. I have google sketch up, but my computer can't handle the programme- it slows down to the point of incredible frustration.

The shuttle bay(s) look small, but this is one of the things the cross section does not show off properly. It runs from port to starboard (roughly) and has two shuttle platforms that raise up to let them in and out. I'll have to do a top view of the whole shuttle bay.

I placed power units in each nacelle (as the original series kind of suggested), but I also put main reactors in the main hull, as a seperate power source for the rest of ship. This reactor power can by shunted to the nacelles should their power be compromised.

Nice! Some time ago I was playing around with TOS-Miranda ideas and I came up something similar... it even had the underslung deflector pod, too. :)

Here's a couple of pics:

Thanks! I think I prefer your deflector pod a little more then mine. Mine seems a little cramped, but I think it houses everything it needs to. The reason I swung my "neck" forward, was to bring the pod into a more forward position to allow for the deflectors energy to clear the bow of the ship as much as possible. Waste not-want not, eh?

I really wish my comp could handle more complex art programmes then "paint". I just bought the blasted thing, but it's sooooo slow, and we've taken everything off of it... Where's the "my computer sucks" forum?

Is it running Windows Vista? We had the same problem with a PC we checked over - brand new, Vista PC, running slow - all it needed was extra RAM and it was fine.

Thanks- I know it's nothing new. Simply a variant of what us fans have been drawnig since we were kids. I'm going to be adding shuttle bay sketches this weekend when I have time at work (heh- I love that).

As for our comp, we're going to buy a 500GB portable hard drive and see if that helps. We'd dump vista for our old XP but our purchase codes won't work!
