tos elements season five

Admiral
which tos elements would you have liked to have seen in season five.

an actual visit to organia might have been interesting.
of course there would have been the build up to the romulan war.

I believe Manny said that the NX was going to visit Stratos from The Cloud Minders. As well as encountering the Kzinti from The Animated Series.

I would have loved to have seen them encounter Tan Ru, which later collided with Nomad as described in The Changeling.

I'd have liked to have seen the Enterprise slightly refitted to look a bit more like Pike's Enterprise. Maybe those weird terminals that look like the machines from the '53 version of War of the Worlds installed or a new paint job for the ship so it's a bit closer to the 1701.

I'd also would have liked to have seen them encounter a Kobayashi Maru situation, to give birth to the legend.

God, I wish this show was allowed to continue on.

From what I understand they were planning on doing something with the Kzinti, so that would've been neat to see.

Dispatch Enterprise to learn the fate of the USS Horizon in the vicinity of Sigma Iota.

Visit Deneva.

Meet Harry Mudd's grandfather.

Heliopolis, Alpha Eridani II (2156): Jack the Ripper strikes again (Wolf in the Fold).

I've always thought that the Deltans were pretty much a blank page in terms of continuity, so it might have been nice to see them on the show at some point. Travis mentioned them once in passing so we know that humans have had contact with them already.

Stratos and the Kzinti would be the big ones for more (well, Romulans as well). Stuff like visiting Denobula had me almost as excited, though, since I like them fleshing out the 22nd Century Universe, not just laying the groundwork for the 23rd Century.

I loved seeing all those TOS touches, in what sadly turned out to be Enterprise's last season. Everything from the end of episode banter at T'Pol's expense in Bound, to quite minor changes in the set to reflect a future Enterprise. Greater use of colored lighting gels, interface graphics and tweaks here and there.

I believe like DS9's 4th Season which lured in the TNG audience with Worf and that whole "When Klingons Go Wild" arc, Enterprise would've toned it down the following year, having caught everyone's attention. It's basically one long stretch of sweeps material. That's not to say TOS references couldn't have been in the mix afterwards. They wouldn't have laid them on quite so thick with a guarantee of a few more seasons to play with. Maybe a few stand alone shows connected to TOS about the first Starbase, the Tan Ru/Nomad encounter, another Klingon tale. Then a few arcs continuing ENT originated plots from S1-3. Which leaves the rest of the season building up to the Romulan threat.

Connecting the dots to Kirk and Spock was cool, but it was far more important for Enterprise to forge it's own identity. More stories like Home and Demons/Terra Prime for me please... with serious character development going on all round. Important prequel landmarks can be covered, so long as they have a personal and life changing impact on the NX-01 crew.

Cloud Miners was lame. I'm really unsure why anyone would want to see that again.

TOS elements:
* Romulan War
* Birth of the Federation
* Friendship that reminds us of TOS without any schlock
* A visit to Tellar
* A real and interesting story with the Orions, like why is their dancing so hypnotic
* Perhaps a Q-like entity like Squire of Gothos or Q; I always liked the gods as they showed up in TOS
* A meeting with the Ithanites

More, I'd like to see continuity within Enterprise.

I have always hated the episodes with the god-like beings including Q. I was very happy that Enterprise never had one of those.

More nods to TOS like we had in S4
More about the Denobulans
More Andorian and Vulcan conflict
More Orion conflict
More about Trip and T'Pol's bond
More Archer and Trip friendship
More Earth bound stories - see how everything is going after the aftermass of Terra Prime. Is that in the past or is there still some elements left.

Most definitely the Romulan war and the birth of the Federation. Those two alone would be enough meat for 3 saesons. Plus some episodes where the characters actually GROW, primarily Hoshi, Travis, and Malcolm. Maybe sprinkle in a couple of promotions for the Ensigns.

OK. This is totally fanboy, and I'm ashamed to even mention it. But here goes: To have the NX-01 actually meet one of the other future Enterprises, due to some time travel story element. Not just TATV holodeck copout.
Be gentle with me.

^ Brace yourself for some pretty negative reaction on that one. The TCW and Braga's own brand of time travel tends to draw plenty of fire.

Personally I'd have loved more of the Enterprise-J onscreen. Trip's reaction to seeing 400 years into the future would make the whole story worthwhile I'm sure...

Who knows, it might've served as a backdoor pilot for that far future series everyone (except me) seems to want.

It would have been nice to have seen the Enterprise next to either the E-B or E-C and flesh out a good story with those ships

I would have also loved to have seen the Romulan War. That would have been so awesome on screen. I would have loved to have seen how they would portray it, especially since their wasn't any ship to ship communication between the Humans and the Romulans.
