TOS-a continuation

About 1990 I took a look at the way technology was going and I told my father,"y'know, if you wanted to make $ down the road you should snap up the rights to the Star trek actors-the rights to use their image in a computer-generated format." I wish I'd gotten on that. That being said, why don't they just do more TOS episodes. The tech is about there to re-create Shatner and the gang in all of their "sleek 23rd century styling" and God knows there are enough GOOD stories out there to fuel a few seasons at least without letting the quality level of the show dip AT ALL!

A CGI Animated TOS series would be fine.

I see no problem with it.

I would favour the same treatment for TNG.

I've liked this idea for a long time.

Though in regards to an original series version, I worry that they might water the stories down with 21st century political correctness.

I'm still for CGI-ing TAS. And maybe adding some more music tracks (I mean, they've got around three pieces that are played every episode). :)

Considering the number of TOS related books, comics and fan-films that are produced, I suspect that there is a "need" ( i.e. market ) for more TOS (and more TNG and indeed, more of all the Trek series).

I'd like to see a CGI TOS series. Maybe some of the Phase II scripts could be used? Replacing the animation of TAS with CGI would be an interesting option as well.

This whole "forwards not backwards" thing is nonsense IMO.

NEM was "forward". It bombed.

It doesn't matter about the timeframe. It's the execution that matters.

And there's no reason why it needs to end there.

With CGI Animation, you can do practically anything.

Look, the original series ended prematurely. I am only proposing a translation of some of the amazing stories that have been written using CGI to re-create the actors in their youth. Its gonna happen one day soon and at least with Trek it makes sense. God help us when dead stars like May West start "starring" in new movies.

A series set in the same time frame, perhaps. But certainly not a retread of the same tired old "Kirk and Spock show".

Theres a huge HUGE galaxy and 300 + years of stories to tell. We DONT need to see more of what weve already seen.

Same goes for more Picard, Sisko, Janeway, or even more Archer. Theres way more to see thats never been seen.
