I'm hoping that with most of the characters gone and jumping across the pond that there will be a spark of creativity and excitement that will spill into the show. If nothing else, I'm interested in seeing what they are going to do, so even if it's shit I'll enjoy analyzing it, and if it's good then of course that will be great. I don't see it being worse than Series 1 and 2 though whether that's damning with faint praise is up to the individual.
Yeah, lose the Welshman and there's a quality writing staff there. On the downside, his controlling everything is probably enough to crush any potential for competent storytelling, and Barrowman's a reason to avoid anything in my book.
I wonder why there's no Chibnall. He's the veteran TW writer, surely. Maybe they're realised he's even more talentless than RTD.
I only watched TW out of a sense of obligation since it was a DW spin-off. S1 and 2 were brutal with a couple good bits here and there. CoE made up for that in my mind but S4, Americanised, is not something I'm looking forward to. I'll watch it out of curiosity but really, RTD and Barrowman do nothing for me.
