Damn, dude. While I certainly agree about giving others a shot to start grading and discussion threads, timothy doesn't deserve this kind of vitriol over it. He's a good guy and he means well.

While I do agree that the thread was started too early, I think you're all being a bit too harsh on Timothy.
Because, last week, there were complaints that his poll didn't have enough options.

#1.) The over-reaction to the polls is more than uncalled for. As I see it, timothy is trying to learn and having a bit of trouble at doing it, so cut him some slack.
#2.) timothy, you are starting the polls too early. Please do NOT start any more polling threads until you get a better handle on how they are conducted. If you need some advice on just how to pull one off yourself, just ask someone (in the QSF forum most likely, not here). Locutus did give you some VERY good advice in last episode's thread, so it's be best to keep it in mind.

I really don't know how I feel about this show so far. At times it feels like two different shows. One that's well written and directed and very compelling. Then other times it just seems poor all around.
Tonight I felt like there were moments where it was the first season all over again. The duel sex scene for instance. There was absolutely reason for it to be in there. It was just unnecessary.
I'll stick with it in hope of a pay off, but I can't help but think that it would be better if it was edited down to half it's length.
It's a shame really. There are some good ideas there but there's also a lot that feels like filler. COE was so good, I was hoping for that quality to continue in this years episodes. This just feels like a huge step backwards.

Just finished watchin' the new episode, and it was certainly better than last week's "Jack's on a Plane" episode. I'm hopin' that was just a hiccup, since this week was almost on par with the season premiere.

Boy, when did Torchwood become cheesy and cliche, the American/British back and forth jokes in the beginning of this episode were just bad. I dunno, but S4 is just so weird. The analogy of two different shows is apt. There is a really good mystery going on here, but on the other hand it feels so cheap. I'm an American, and I do not like the two American CIA agents being portrayed here. I'm not connecting with them at all.

Murray Gold is the composer for "Miracle Day" so if you don't like his music from "Doctor Who" you probably won't in this either. Will have to wait until Space has it up to watch it. It took them half a week to get "Rendition" online. Rao only knows how long it will take them this week.

Well, I thought it was pretty damn good. Not a big fan of the gay sex, but then not a big fan of the straight sex either. What caught my eye was the subtle things said that will shape the future story. Danes as a charismatic prophet, coupled to the nihilism Jack found in him, down that way lies the end of everything, in ways more awful than we can imagine because no one will die from it. Jack saying "We don't need anyone" while Gwen is cooing to her baby. The reveal about Phi Cop's long-term planning - what do they know? How do they know it? And that word in the trailer - "segregation". Where will that lead??

My most favourite part was when Jack said "Bigger on the inside" about the warehouse.
Any Who reference is good. But to be honest I'm finding it boring and dreadfully slow. And I wish Rex really would die, cause he's just so damn annoying.

I got a kick out of the bigger on the inside line as well.
The other thing that's bugging me (and this is a very minor nit to pick) is that we saw that Rex was impaled clean through in episode one, yet they only seem to be dressing the wound in the front and ignoring the back.

I'm still having a problem with Oswald and the soulless because I just don't really believe in would happen the way it's presented. I have to accept it because the story says so but it feels false. Hopefully, that will be less of an issue when the plotlines start to expand and converge.
Also, I think there's a bit of a tonal disconnect with the goofy antics of Torchwood and the seriousness of the situation.
The what-if situation of living forever without protection from injury, aging, etc. is an interesting one. I think the novel situation and the consequences is keeping this thing interesting. Whoever plays the doctor (no, not that Doctor!) has been doing a pretty good job with the material I think. She almost seems to be part of a different show.
I'm not sure about the Phicorp storyline but that looks like it has some potential to be an interesting twist. I wonder if they have been more active in creating the crisis rather than just taking advantage of it.
