There ya go wamdue, I think he just explained your point of view a lot better than you ever did.
yes he did didnt, maybe now some of you realise what ive banging on about all day.

and he has a point I didnt mention, naked women, we should have naked women.

as for the gas tank, yeah it makes it very easy for the aliens to kill whoever is in the room.
Now putting Naked women in would just be sexist;):p
Funny, because there are some people who would seriously try to argue that.

Another good episode although by the end it felt like they spent the whole episode basically recovering from the events at the end of the last episode without gaining any new information. And no, THEY are coming tomorrow isn't all that important (or surprising). :p

Ianto's brother-in-law might be an ass but at least he has some heart and some brains. That was a nice turn of events.

I love Mr. Dekker. He feels like a cross between Q and Leo McGarry. Oh, and I don't know if it's just me or not, but I'm getting a big X-Files-like conspiracy feeling from the ending of the episode. The kids were given up by the government to the aliens and now the aliens are coming back for more.

At last we finally learn what would happen to Jack if he got decapitated and suffice to say it SUCKS. Holy fuck, I feel sorry for Jack. First he gets blown to bits and wakes up to pain worse than Hell itself and THEN gets buried alive in cement. Fucking bastards.

Again, the only parts I didn't like about this episode surround Lois. Right now it feels like her sole purpose is to provide information to Gwen when Gwen can't get it any other way. What are her motives? Simply because she was there and is afriad? What was the point of Lois going to the top floor with Mr. Frobisher and Bridget if she wasn't even allowed in? Other than of course to pass onto Gwen that "something" is being built there.

Oh, I lied. I also can't stand Agent Johnson. She acts like everything that's happening around is deliberately inconveniencing her. Can't tell if it's the actress' fault or the way she was written, but either way I don't like her.

Well i have a older friend who told me a newspaper years ago tried to put something in it for the ladies but they were forced to stop because the MEN complained so i so could see the complains lighting up the BBC switch board.

There's also this little thing called morality, which some (admittedly few) people possess, and while tends to be offended by the government committing murder. She's new, an outsider, and hasn't experienced the corrupting influences of institutional life, so she's in an ideal position to be a whistle-blower.

I get what people are saying about Torchwood reacting rather than acting in this episode, but the only alternative would be an implausibly quick recovery from the devastating attack, which would undermine the drama of their predicament, or dropping the attack altogether, which would lower the stakes too much.

I do remember when I was younger one of the papers tried a page three boy, I suppose, I remember one of the teachers aides at school going on about it. Didn't know the reason they got rid of it was men complaining.

She did say that she didn't join to cover up murder, or something along those lines.

Granted. I get that's what RTD is going for but for some reason it's falling flat for me. *shrug*

I understand that, too. I was more pointing that fact out than criticizing it, but I would have liked some more information revealed or something with the aliens (or Clement McDonald) being pushed forward more.

It was that she didn't sign the Official Secrets Act to cover up murder.

Judging from Lois' personality, I doubt she's a natural fit for that kind of job anyway, and I imagine under normal circumstances she'd have been dismissed or transferred before too long.

The sun used to do the page 7 fella...

Information I really shouldn't know about! Never had a problem with it myself, if it's ok for me to look at topless totty why isn't it ok for the ladies (or gentlemen so inclined) to do likewise with hot blokes?

The world is a silly place sometimes!

I guess that's what it must have been, I remember her oogling it on the school bus trip somewhere and going on about it to someone, but it's a vague memory. Just figured it wasn't popular and discontinued. It's stupid that it would be stopped from blokes complaining, it never stopped page 3 when women complained.

It kinda seems like Rimmer's reaction in Parallel Universe when he sees the car mags with scantily clad men draped on them.

Just bringing this one back up for Part 2 for the American/Canadian Viewers. Looking forward to it. :)

Another excellent episode. I'm actually taping all the episodes together, but if the bonus features are worthwhile on the DVD, it might be worth a buy. Pretty great so far, and it was cool seeing Rhys in on the action.

Strange that we're not getting more comments after the US showing...

I'm really enjoying the stuff with Jack and Ianto's families. I'm hoping that they'll continue to be recurring, though I suspect that at least one member will meet a grisly end.

And I like Lois. I don't know what all the hate on her is about at all.

I'm really enjoying it - it's hard to rate at this point for me. I want to see how this conspiracy/456 thing works out and if I'll buy it. However, I really enjoy the depth of character development from these two episodes. Especially with Ianto and his family.

Part 2... just as good as Part 1! This is the best Torchwood has ever been. And look at Gwen, two gun action hero. I might actually start to like the character for the first time ever. I just worry that once the gov soldiers are dealt with and it switches to the aliens it won't be quite as neat.

Nothing to worry about in that regard. I think most people find that at that point it really starts to shine.

I didn't think Jack's regeneration so to speak was that much of a stretch. In fact I didn't even think about how possible it was, just how horrifying it would be to get blown to pieces and then slowly come back together. How Jack has not lost his mind after this is beyond me but still pretty scary.

I thought the end was particuarly creepy when whats his face (sorry I don't remember his name) was pressed against the glass of the chamber the aliens are supposed to be in. I don't think it was the guy nessessarly but the whole look of the room with the chamber. I've had nightmares like that, very disturbing.

I want to add one more thing on the whole "naked men" thing. I want to be clear that I am not gay in any way and I live in the US where naked men on TV is a very rare thing. Now I don't find that kind of thing erotic in anyway but at the same time I appreciate a show that doesn't shy away from it.
