Rejoice! My stupid friends missed their train so the night out is off! This is clearly a sign.

Even I'm missing a night out for this!!! I never watch Torchwood live though, I'm going to catch it on iplayer straight after it finishes. This way I can pause it whenever I want, grab a beer, the loo... a jelly baby!!! :D

This Mr Dexter is creepy and I have to wonder who or what he is? This could be brill. Love the Blair Witch opening and the damnation of The Doctor. No wonder he doesn't always intervene. That was great. [And explains stuff too hee hee]

I don't know what to say.
That was some of the best tv ever it was really hard to watch at times.
Anybody thinking Browns not so bad after seeing that PM.

That was very dark - especially the lengths Jack went to. It was also very tense and a gripping finale, despite the lack of action. Like ep.4 it was the sheer actions being contemplated by the governments that drove the story and tension. Fantastic science fiction story telling in my opinion.

But where does this leave Torchwood now?

Well that was just some of the most gripping, harsh and just frankly audacious TV I've ever watched.
I honestly don't think I could have asked for anything more, not just from this awesome last hour but from the last 5 days.

If TV was always like this, a) I'd need some antidepressants, but b) I'd never leave it alone.

Congratulations to the torchwood team for some fantastic TV

Jebus. Killing yer own grandson to save the universe - and two nights in a row I've turned round to see my GF in tears. I just hid what I was typing, she slammed a beer down next to me and informed me "Twice. I cried at that twice tonight! What have you done to me?!"

Excellent.

Depressing ending, just what I was looking for. Though it was definatly a downer going into 8 Out of 10 Cats.

Wonderfull stuff form little moments like "Did he say anything about the car?" to Andy fighting, and everything else we've all seen so I won't mention. Quick fix ending, but it didn't feel too quick...

Looks less likely to be having a series four, if they did... major restructure which we already knew from yesterday, but Gwen looks less likely and Jacks gone walkabout again.

That was...words fail me. Brilliant doesn't do it justice. I'll even let RTD off his technobable ending because he grounded it in a very human sacrifice. I was almost screaming at the telly for Steven to be like his grandfather, to come back...

And as for Frobisher walking upstairs to kill his family and himself...sent shivers down my spine.

People are going to be talking about this for a long time to come in the annels of telly history I think.

I can not believe we could not take on some Intergalactic junkies.
And disappointed in the people on the council estate no petrol bombs or even bricks being thrown.

Wow. Just wow. What an UTTER cunt Jack is.

Did anyone else just wish the PM/govt would grow a fucking spine and at least try telling the 456 to do one?

How did that lady at the end think she would be taking over. The contact lense footage was just a damning to her I think

Fucksticks that was depressing. Utterly brilliant, but depressing. RTD has out-bleaked BSG, a show I usually need to watch five episodes of Doctor Who after to prevent myself from ending it all with a bottle of scotch and 500 aspirin.

If I'm not around tomorrow.... it means the scotch was bloody blended again and not single malt.

I really wanted some sign that there will be a next series, even just Jack saying he'd be back "one day"... but it would have cheapened it. After what he's just been through... I can't see him having the optimism to say that. He needs an encounter with a certain Time Lord to restore his faith.

And PC Andy is officially taking Ianto's "da Man" trophy. Get stuck in, mate.

I cant believe im saying this. I LOVED an episode of Torchwood. This coming from the guy who was ready to lynch John Barrowman for series 1.

Heh, thats not strictly true, I really liked all of these episodes, they were a step above and beyond whats come before in this series. Its a shame it looks like this is where its finishing, because if they couldve maintained this level of sheer talent and creativity, I would've watched till the ends of the Earth.

Tis a Shame really. :( Least they went out on a high (which was actually a rather down) note.

I don't know what to say, powerful stuff.

Is Torchwood dead? Will Gwen become the new head?

That was just so very fucking good.

JB wasn't kidding when he said Jack was darker this series.

An amazing ending for Torchwood if that's it finished.

Damn.

That was truly a bold climax. Punches definitely not pulled, no sugary happy ending, sometimes harrowing in places.

But what now for Torchwood? And Captain Jack? And the show in general?

And PC Andy is officially taking Ianto's "da Man" trophy. Get stuck in, mate.
:bolian:

RTD, I fucking love you. I love you even though you have killed much-loved characters and broken our hearts into a million pieces over and over again. I love you for having the courage to kill a hugely loved character and I love you for showing us what Torchwood really can be - spectacular, dark and heart breaking.

Well it may have been a technobabble solution, but what a technobabble solution. Good emotional resonance and repercussions. Very nearly caused a tear or two there too.
And they reckon BSG was depressing, they got nothing on us.
