Not sure what you mean about "raised Catholic". Any religion or denomination -- or other organization -- can be looked at as a culture of its own. But all I really meant by the phrase was that my parents chose to have me baptized and to send me to Sunday School in the Catholic Church, not the Russian Orthodox.

I was raised Catholic like my father's family, but my mother's family was Russian Orthodox. As a kid, I loved it -- got to celebrate Christmas twice every year!

Personally I find it interesting that everyone was 'raised catholic.' Its really sort of a cultural thing I gather. I wouldn't know, being a Calvinist.
