Top Flip cell phones?

Surefire

I have a Nokia that does a decent job, but the battery compartment is flimsy and sometimes works its way loose.

What are the current top makers of flip style cell phones?

Want durability and ease of use -- don't really care about feature set. Not a heavy talker and don't care about texting.

What brands/models do you all like?

My last 2 (both flip phones) have been Motos. Previously a Razr V3 (I got mad and broke it, so not the phone's fault per se) and now a Razr2 V9.

Good phones, they seem durable. I have no use for media devices as such, so I aimed more for a good phone, with some other options.

The carrier shouldn't matter. My current phone isn't a "T-Mobile" phone, but an AT&T one I think, but uses a SIM card, and any phone that uses the SIM card would have worked.

Of course if you want to sign a new contract, your carrier will practically give you a free phone, or at least a discount on one. I didn't want to sign anything, in case I just want to up & leave, so I paid a pretty high price for the new one ($180).

I also have a Razr V3. Proven phone but the extras are nothing special (I want a phone not a swiss army knife). I got it because I knew it interfaced with my computer's address book.

Paid $40 off ebay with no contract

The carrier is verizon

I just switched to Verizon a few months ago.

After checking out all of their phones, I selected the LG EnV and absolutely love it. Verizon's service and coverage area over both rock too.

I'm on board with the Razor comments. I've owned three different ones in the past few years before using other models - and miss the Razor a lot.

BTW, I don't believe Verizon uses sim cards. They use CDMA technology (Verizon, Sprint, Virgin Mobile) while sim cards are GSM (t-mobile, ATT). The two are not compatible.

The Razor died on me very quickly (big crack in the front). I got a cheap (but sturdy) old phone as a replacement.

After seeing lots of good reviews on Verizon, I went with the Samsung Convoy. Its a new model that is suppose to be built like a tank and is up to military specs. It even has a locking battery case which should prevent the case from opening when not wanted to.

Thanks for everyone that posted ideas.
