I must have seen all of the cringeworthy episodes of Fawlty Towers first, because I remember not liking the show at all when it was first aired. Did end up seeing at least a couple of the good ones later on, though.
Mr. Bean (together with a couple of other Bean-like characters portrayed by Atkinson) was something I could never convince myself I liked; in fact, most of it quickly made me want to change the channel. I much enjoyed the Blackadders, though - some of those were nothing short of brilliant. I'm not familiar with The Thin Blue Line - will probably have to check that out.

Actually, My Family featured a moment that I think may be the funniest thing I've ever seen on television - I almost fell off the couch laughing. For those who haven't seen the show, the oldest son, Nick, is forever trying to decide what career path he might eventually want to pursue. In this one episode, he decides to learn to be a piano tuner. Throughout the episode, in scenes in the living room, he's seen in the background practicing on the family piano. After a rough day, the father comes into the living room and sits down at the piano...
He presses a key, and a note sounds. He presses another key, and the same note sounds. He starts banging on the keyboard, and discovers that Nick has tuned every single key to the exact same note.
Err...no. The Good Life (as "Good Neighbours" is known everywhere else) and Green Acres aren't the same show at all. The Good Life = self-sufficiency in suburbia; Green Acres = lifestyle change from big city to countryside. They really have nothing in common.
