Top 75 spaceships of Science Fiction

Neither of the Galacticas made it? No Borg Cube? The Discovery is #16 after the fucking Betty from Alien: Resurrection and the Moonbase Dildocepter? The Star Destroyer is #21? The Millenium Falcon is not #1 and the Enterprise not #2?

Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?

Can't say I agree with their rankings, but the detail in that article (in the two pages that I perused) makes for a good read.

I agree...I thought it was an interesting list, although I don't really agree with the rankings...I'd put Leonov in the top ten for one thing. The Minbari ships have to be up there somewhere...and where's V'Ger...but they have the shuttle from Saturn 3? Hmmm

RAMA

Agreed. Their rankings leave much to be desired.

Like most of these "Top ## of ________" lists that periodically come out, if nothing else they're good conversation starters. At least the author here gave good justifications for why he placed them where he did. It's certainly more than you'll get from most of these magazines that rank the top TV shows, movies, books, etc.

...and where's V'Ger...
Yeah, seriously. The giant turd-shaped whalesong probe from The Voyage Home made the list, but no love for V'Ger? :wtf:

The drop-ship from ALIENS at #1? Seriously? It's an okay design, but better than the Millenium Falcon? Or the Enterprise? Or Serenity? Or the Galactica? Or...

The choices are a little whacky (especially #1), but I give them props for going the distance in creating that list with descriptions.

Edit:

Babylon 5 isn't represented at all? No Minbari battle-cruiser, White Star, or Shadow ship? Blasphemy!

I agree. That's a ridiculous oversight.

I was expecting at least one of the battlestars from either the original or the reimagined BSG would be on the list. And Borg cube deserves to be there too.

Enterprise should have been #1, where was the Death Star? They had Star Wars dominated shit. What about the ship from WAL-E or 5th element? Shitty list IMO.

no Outlaw Star? No Bebop or Swordfish? what about the Soyokaze? Ryo-Ohki, the Jurai ships or that wicked ship of Kagato's? how about the huge ships from Final Fantasy 12? Capt. Harlocks beloved Emeralds? the only ship from animedom they can come up with is the Yamato? really?

This subject is ripe for proper Trekbbs debate and a definitive answer for all time (or until the next great ship design comes along).

I notice most, though not all, are kit ships. That's why I think there was no Babylon series stuff, they were all CGI and I don't know if official kits were made.

I like most of his choices, but not the order, and I sure wouldn't have had the dropship at No.1. No way

I agree, the ordering on a lot of these were off with numerous omissions. There were several model kits of B5 ships that were produced by Monogram, back when the show was on. There was a kit of the station and the Star Fury.

I was shocked that a D7 didn't make the list, any of the BSG battlestars, or the ships from Independance Day.

He means kits used for filming instead of pure CGI like B5 was.
