Norrin Radd

Vice Admiral
A while ago, CBR did a massive poll asking what the top Marvel and DC characters were. Of the heroes selected, the results are featured below.

My question is which group is your favourite: Marvel or DC?

Marvel:
Spider-Man
Captain America
Daredevil
The Thing
Hulk
Wolverine
Hawkeye
Thor
Cyclops
Iron Man

DC:
Batman
Superman
The Flash (Wally West)
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Nightwing
Green Arrow
Wonder Woman
Robin (Tim Drake)
Oracle (formerly Batgirl)
Martian Manhunter

I'm gonna go with Marvel, although if they ever fought, with that group, DC would win. Superman alone could do some major damage. and well Batman, we all know with the proper preparation, he could prevail, but if he didn't have the time, well you know what actually come to think of it the roster is a bit uneven. Beyond Supes and Batman, and some of the other Justice League members, everybody else seem pretty mortal. Alot of the Marvel guys would have super strength and durability (Thing, Hulk) I think it would be pretty close though.

Wonder Woman could beat everyone on the Marvel list except the Hulk and maybe Thor(a draw here). Green Lantern I am sure could beat everyone unless Daredevil and Wolverine wore the yellow costumes. Cap would beat Bats simply because he has the SSS. If we consider Thor to have magic abilities he would beat Superman. The Martian Manhunter would beat them all.

Marvel, easily. And my Carol could take that silly Amazon woman any day of the week. Well, she could have... sniff... :(

I think we did this Marvel Vs DC before

Quality wise then DC wins because Catwoman, Batman, Joker etc are just so much better than anything Marvel has

However if we count quantity...then Marvel wins because DC has some lame-ass heroes and lame villains while Marvel's Tony Stark, Magneto, Thor, Jean Grey, Thing, Blade are all pretty cool and they start to raise the bar above DC

Take Batman and his villains out of DC and there isn't much left in DC

Wonder Woman could beat everyone on the Marvel list except the Hulk and maybe Thor(a draw here).

Actually Surfer would own them all
HIS DEAL:

As the former herald of the world-devourer Galactus, Norrin Radd possesses he "power cosmic," an energy source capable of almost any feat imaginable, making him one of the most powerful beings in the cosmos
and WonderWoman, Thor and most of Marvel/Dc beats Hulk.
The Hulk only wins because every time he fights some one it just degrades into a bar room brawl, no battlle of brains, no battle of tech, no powers, just brute force punches
Hulks deal is not his strength but his big fan base and Hulk is just so much more popular than Thor or WonderWoman or whoever so unless somebody insanely popular like Batman is fighting him then Hulk will win.
BTW Batman beat the crap out of Hulk in a Marvel/DC cross over, its not about strength or powers...its all a big popularity contest

Thor being realistic on this comic book hero would just send Hulk through a portal into some hellish inferno
or fly up high and keep blasting Hulk with lightning bolts until the Green giant looked like an over cooked vegetable

Marvel. I'm almost entirely indifferent to DC (blame my oldest brother who was in charge of comic book purchases in our household and was a total Marvel loyalist :rommie:) but the whole Green Lantern concept has started to interest me lately with the news about the movie.

DC characters are overall more powerful, but Marvels lineup is far more interesting.

Marvel, just cause Marvel has always been my overall fave.

What does it for me is practically all the heroes live and work in New York. I live there too, so it tends to bring the stories Home. With DC, it's always "Metropolis" or "Gotham" or "Central City", what have you. It's kind of annoying.

GL is the only thing at DC currently worth getting into IMO that's not a Vertigo title.

Marvel. the only DC characters i have any interest in are the Bat family. everyone else is too much of a goody two-shoes straight arrow or jut lame.

Oracle was voted a top ten DC character?

Kind of strange, I know. Are there slim pickins' at DC, I wonder?

Which is completely ridiculous since there is not a single thing Batman could do to even slightly hurt the Hulk.

It was as much of a team-up issue than anything else. In their encounters, the only real offense Batman had (other than a few ineffectual punches or kicks) was using knockout gas to turn the Hulk back into Banner.

I agree. But the Marvel side is too much of a wienerfest though. And kudos to the Slim love. Good to see him there. Here's the way I see it:

Spider-Man vs Robin: No contest. Spider-Man all the way. As much of a whining little bitch he is, Parker can go to town when he has to and has a massive intellect. I love ya Tim, but you're mediocre fighter at best.

Captain America vs Batman: Cap wins this. Screw the "If he has time to prepare!" crap. Batman is good, but he's not that best martial artist in the DCU. Cap never gets tired and his combat prowess is second to none. He can go toe-to-toe with The Hulk and come out ok. Now that punk Bucky, yeah Batman is totally kicking his ass.

Daredevil vs Nightwing: The battle of the K-Mart Batman's. It might be easy to say Daredevil because he's a more high profile character, but Dick's been going at it with every major bad guy in The DCU - human and super-human - since he was 12. He can beat Deathstroke, a guy who is Daredevil's equal in every way, one on one. He's more experienced, he's smarter, and he's has a more tactical mind. Daredevil lost horribly to The Punisher. Sorry Matt.

Green Arrow vs Hawkeye: Too close to call. Clint is a better fighter. But Olie is just so damn clever. And he has the boxing glove arrow. So I'll go with the original super archer.

Thor vs Superman: Again, it would be easy to say Superman. But Thor, now that he has Odin's powers, is leaps and bounds more powerful then Superman could ever be. Superman is also vulnerable to magic just like he is kryptonite. Guess what The Asgardians powers are made of? Guess what his hammer is made of? Magic. Logically, this one wouldn't even be close.

Iron Man vs Martian Manhunter: Under most cirumstances I'd say MM. But I'm pretty sure Tony has at least one blowtorch on just about every suit of armor he has. And he will kill if he has to. So if he has a suit with a blowtorch he wins. Otherwise, it'll be over in 3 seconds.

Cyclops vs Green Lantern: Again, it would be easy to say GL. But Scott has the most brilliantly tactical and strategic mind around. He's killed Apocolypse. He's outsmarted Dark Pheonix, Evil Clones of Professor X, Mr. Sinister, and Magento. He's kicked Wolverines ass every time they've ever thrown down. He's even beaten the entire X-Men roster by himself. And he never loses his cool. He always finds a weakness and exploits it. Always. Hal's super-powerful, and a smart cookie, but's he's also extremely arrogant and sometimes out of touch with reality. His overconfidence will be his weakness. GL would probably win because of his popularity and because he's way more powerful. But I think Cycolps would give him a good fight at least.

The Flash vs The Hulk: Speed vs Strength. I see this as a draw. Hulks not fast enough to hit Wally. And even Wally's super-fast punches wouldn't put a dent in The Hulk. He could try stomping the ground, but Wally's got The Speed Force. Unless he does that vibrate-thing where he could pull a Kitty Pride and stop Bruce's heart(which he won't do), I can't see either getting a solid hit on the other.

Wolverine vs Wonder Woman: The Queen of Comics vs The Man's Man. They're both matched fighting wise. But Wolverine can try and heal all he wants, but once that Lasso of Truth is around him it's game over. "Tell me something truthful Logan!" "I.....I only drink beer and smoke cigars because I think it makes me look cool.....I'm a total poser."

The Thing vs Oracle (formerly Batgirl): Mama Grimm's baby boy would never hit a girl. At least one in a wheelchair anyway. He's too much of a gentlemen. He'd probably help her up some stairs and then ask her what her favorite movie is.

Don't even need to look at the list, Marvel by a mile. I've always thought DC's lineup of charatcers was super piss poor
