Too old for anime?

Simple question, curious to see the answers and to see why or why not you feel this way. The questions is:

"Do you sometimes feel you are too old for anime?"

I am 33 years old and I don't think I'm to old for anime. Plain and simple. I say to each their own. If you have someone telling you you're to old then you need better friends.

No, there's plenty of adult-oriented anime.

That's like saying "are you too old for books" or "are you too old for movies".

Well, I watched this week's Gundam 00 episode this morning. Then I went on my way to my job as a corporate accounts manager for a leading GIS software company. Tonight, I'll cuddle together with my wife after dinner and chores to watch an episode or two of her current anime series. Or "Heroes", where Hiro is her favorite otaku. ;)

I'm 32, fairly physically fit, an actor in my spare time, and an active anime fan. What's your mileage?

No Way! I am almost 30, and I LOVE Anime! Never Too Old to like it! As has been stated, there are lots and lots of different Anime genres out there, some geared toward kids, and some towards adults. Afteral, it is adults who write this stuff in the first place, they certainly aren't too old for it :D

I will say that the shonen aspect of a lot of anime is kind of weird now that I'm approaching my 30s.

I mean, clearly there's a lot of stuff that isn't that, but at the moment it's all I seem to be getting into.

I have always been a fan of science fiction and fantasy and of comic books. My passion for certain Anime series is something new but anyway, it is related to what I have always enjoyed.

I learned reading with comic books. Now I am nearly 47 and it is obvious that I will never grow out of it. And why should I? I got to know my husband about 20 years ago thanks to our mutual hobby. He, by the way, introduced me to Anime in the first place. Our six-year-old daughter is growing up with two passionate SF fans and collectors. She is already sharing our interests. When she was younger it was Pokemon. Now it is Bleach and Rike Back which are her favourites. When she is older she can also watch some more mature things.

The contrary, you are never too old to start enjoying Anime. I only started last year to get really interested in at least some of it.

If some people look at me strangely because of my interests, let them. At least I am young at heart. :)

I don't think that someone can be too old for anime, but if you're over 16 and a dude and you love Fruits Basket...you need to be watching other things.

Im 34... the only time I feel too old for anime is when I lurk at forums where everyone is all "OMG!!! so kawaii!!!"

Some anime is directed at the whole family or even just older audiences, so no. However, I would say that personally I do not care for most anime.
