Too bad we aren't going to the Moon.

I'm sure Elon Musk will make good use of the Moon's new role of "gas station to the solar system".

Once setup, the price per pound to launch should be cheaper if we get it from the moon. An not just gas, but air and water to.

^Air is a gas. There is no gasoline on the moon, I was speaking figuratively.

Water can be broken down to 2 very useful elements. Hydrogen, which is excellent for rocket fuel. Oxygen can be used as an oxidizer and of course life support. Then of course, water itself is needed to sustain life.

I know that. I understood you to mean gas to use as fuel, which would mean breaking water into Hydrogen and Oxygen. I was pointing out it can also used for life support.
