Today I almost shoved an employee at Target

And another thing: I always endeavor to write with the utmost completeness, accuracy, and clarity. It is NOT my problem that others misinterpret the things I say. Apparently, what I say and what others think I say are two different things.

I Say: "Sacramento is the state capital of California."
Others Read: "Copenhagen is the capital of California, and the moon is made of green cheese."

What the hell gives?!? :wtf:

I feel your pain mate. Sometimes I think I might be the crazy one.

edit - Nah, no way.

So was this thread supposed to be a mockery of the other thread or were you trying to make a point?

I hold Target in such high esteem, and I guess I need to lower my expectations. I can be quite crude, too, but I'm usually very cautious before I open my mouth. But the whole experience is all water under the bridge to me ...

I wouldn't go so far as call it a mockery of the other thread, but I did rant about the quality of customer service at my favorite store.

It wasn't customer service, though. You overheard a random employee talking to another random employee. You could argue it was poor conduct in a business environment if you want, but it is nothing to do with customer service.

They weren't dealing directly with him, that is true. However they were on the clock and when you're on the clock it is expected of you to conduct yourself professionally.

I've worked in retail for going on seven years now, and that employee shouldn't have been using crude language in ear shot of customers.

Well, if you want to get technical, it wasn't the way Cute Guy served the customer(s) per se; it was more related to the way he talked while conducting business, which to me seemed unprofessional.

EDIT: Reply to Servo

Which is pretty much what I said.

Also, you'll find that not many minimum wage shelf-monkeys give a fuck about professional conduct in a supermarket environment.

I don't even understand what this thread is supposed to be about. A mild annoyance? A parody? I don't get it.

It seemed (to me at least) that you were trying to argue that the employee did nothing wrong. Which is not the case, he violated the rules of his work establishment. Whether or not anyone overheard him is neither here nor there, he should not have been saying that period.

Of course, why would they, they are just marking time until they get themselves 'real' jobs.

If you want superior service, be prepared to pay a superior price.

No. I was arguing that it's such a non-issue, that it's not worth getting uppity about, and certainly doesn't really warrant a thread on a Star Trek message board.
I was also saying that if I'd overheard it, I wouldn't have been bothered.

Of course the guy was breaking the code of conduct, but it's hardly a crime against humanity, and seeing as the guy probably couldn't care less about whether someone overheard him say "sucks dick" in his 10-a-penny minimum wage job, then who cares?

If I got reported every time I said something inappropriate for the workplace, i'd be on my hundredth job by now.

Failed? How juvenile can you get. What are we, keeping track of scores here now? Anyway, I have moved on. You're free to not respond to my thread, just so you know.
Please, keep digging. After you went Jeff O'Connor on that guy, you might go Trekker on us. :p

When a parody need to be explained, it's a sure hint it's a very poor parody.

You know, if youre getting confused, don't overthink it. Just feel free to form your own interpretation, no matter how absurd or inaccurate it is. :) God knows we don't have enough of that on this board.

Moon, green cheese, and all that!
