To seek out new life...

That was cool! Congrats again!

(I'm guessing that's the same game/retexture setup you used for an art challenge a few years ago?)

We just hit 28 weeks today, and that meant another doctor's appointment and an ultrasound. We got a really great look at her and apparently she's started to practice her breathing. The doctor did note that she is currently in breech position, but that we shouldn't worry at this time since she still has plenty of time to rotate once we get closer to her due date.

Anyway, here are her latest portraits. In the profile I totally see my nose but in the 3D I see my wife's, it's so cool!

She's doing very well. She has started to worry a lot about our apartment not being ready, so on my days off I make sure that at least some progress has been made before she gets home.

Since we're getting down to crunch time and we still don't have a name for her yet, we've been throwing around some ideas.

Eleanor: My idea that nobody seems to like, especially my wife

Amelia: Wife's idea that I am okay with but now wife isn't too sure. Thinks it may be too "common"

Estella/Stella: Wife's idea and one she seems to gravitate towards, but one I am not totally sold on yet. I do like that it is Latin for "star" though. And it is definitely a name you don't hear often. Although when I hear Estella or Stella I can't help but be reminded of this scene.

I really like the middle name May for her. It means "great", I was born in May and it has a somewhat Southern sound to it. My dad's side is from Texas and Tennessee so it would be cool to have a bit of that influence.

I thought I'd rekindle this thread with a new picture, as we're now in week 35...coming down the home stretch! We'll have another ultrasound appointment in a week with supposedly a ton more pictures, but I wanted to share this one. The past month has been a doozie, complete with (what I believe to be) a misdiagnosis of gestational diabetes. Long story short, they claimed her 3-hour glucose test results were "off the charts high" yet all of her subsequent blood glucose tests, both in lab and on a home meter have been low to normal. Needless to say I was not happy, especially when the endocrinologist started suggesting she go on insulin.

Other than that, everything is still textbook perfect with our little one...who still is without a name. The baby shower is this Saturday and if we don't have one soon after then it'll be serious crunch time. I'm pushing for Amelia though. Anyway, here's our little shrimp who is not quite so little anymore!

That is terrifying.

Looking fwd very much to the BABY pics of the Real Baby that don't look like irradiated play-doh!!

I'm going to plug for Stella May. Stella means star, that is only a good thing! And it sounds very classy, also modern but not trendy.

Yeah the 3D photos leave a little bit to be desired. A few have been really awesome though.

I got the carseat installed today, since going forward, she could pop at just about any time. Had a check up on Monday and she's at a perfect 6lbs 7oz and right on target to be a healthy weight. Less than a month to go!

Well...no more 3D ultrasound images necessary...

...because my daughter was born today!

I proudly present Amelia Kaly, born at 8:41pm on March 24th 2015 at a weight of 6 lbs 10 ounces and length of 19". I have known her for about 5 hours and am already head over heels in love with her. I am still in awe of how beautiful she is.

Welcome to the planet, Amelia Kaly. It's a wild ride! We will use your real name just until your Mommy and Daddy have a chance to pick you out a really cool screen name and avatar for the Star Trek BBS. Oh, and ain't NObody, Darlin', able to put a look on your Daddy's face like the one in the picture, 'cept YOU!

Congratulations, Mr. And Mrs. Capacitor! Well done, and don't blink! It goes so fast!

Congrats. See your wife won the name game :p

Take lots of pictures. Mine's 7 months old now, and it seems like they change on a daily basis...
