To restore the prime universe timeline, the Narada, like the Enterprise C need to go back...

If you're twelve or under and your pet dies, you throw a fit and mope because "everything is RUINED FOREVER" and nothing can EVER be as good as that pet.
If you're over twelve, you accept that death is a natural part of life, grow up, realize that your pets are what YOU make of them, and that endlessly obsessing over your lost pet is in NO WAY HEALTHY, and move on.

BTW, Pluto isn't going to go back to being a planet either.

It's only a metaphor ... you don't need to take that pet thing literally. Replace "pet" with "kid", are you getting my point now?

When did Star Trek "die"?

If you had read the previous posts, you'd know that I was talking about the Prime Timeline. Which was declared dead by some posters here.

I understand it was a metaphor. I have a BA in Creative Writing. I simply extended it to demonstrate how ridiculous it was.
Star Trek is not your baby, and your attempts to reinforce your point are only demolishing it instead.

Star Trek lives. Plain and simple. A fan may not like some elements of the various products currently being released, but Star Trek is not dead, and neither is some fan created notion of a "Prime" timeline.

I sure as fuck would hope that you wouldn't spend the rest of your life 'betting good money' that your child is going to come back to life any day now.

And no - implying that a parents attachment to their dead child is comparable to your affection for an ongoing entertainment franchise (just not 'ongoing' in a form you like), makes the attempted analogy even worse.

The Borg ate it. Ask Peter David.

That hunk of ice and rock was asking for it.

Its not a pet or a child. Its a fantasy franchise. It's make believe. The comparison is insulting to people who have suffered real, traumatic losses.
Whoa Whoa Whoa, lets slow down a minute! Now I know there have been some hot tempers and some testy words, but lets not insult the source material and call it FANTASY! This is pure science fiction! Lets get it right! What do you think this is? Star Wars?!?!:lol::lol:

Perish the thought. I stand corrected. Of course Warp Speed is based on real, observable science and Hyperspace is just an adult - child's fantasy.

For me, the prime universe died in the eighties, since the only Trek in that universe that I really give a crap about anymore is TOS and some of the TOS movies.

Onward with JJTrek/Kelvin timeline/NuTrek/whatever it's called!
