    BOBW, hands down.
Second place was Redemption, with Worf leaving and Sela coming out of the woodwork.
Third place, for me, was Tears of the Prophets. Though I liked Images in the Sand way better, since we got to see Benny Russell again.

    BOBW, it's not even close.

On the idea of what makes a cliffhanger and what doesn't, in my opinion most of the DS9 episodes aren't cliffhangers, particularly the season finales, since in almost all cases weeks or months passed for the characters before the next episode started. "Call to Arms" is one of my favorite episodes, but I agree with Ira Behr when he said it's not a cliffhanger, it's just a great ending. But YMMV, of course.

Some more worthy cliffhangers are missing from Voyager and Enterprise (in particular).

Still, I voted for The Best of Both Worlds as the best one... what sane person wouldn't?

EDIT: Just re-read Post #1. Cliffhanger voting in two-parts... so more to come, I guess.

^ Cheers! Perhaps these threads can be pinned until voting has finished?

For anyone as myopic as me... Part Two is here.

For the record, when I place my vote, I'm not voting for any episode that was filmed as one single episode (which means that All Good Things..., Emissary, What You Leave Behind, etc., are disqualified.)

    The Best of Both Worlds

Such a shocker back then when I watched it for the first time!

I went with "Redemption". Having a romulan step out who looks like Tasha Yar was one hell of a cliffhanger. That was a puzzling moment if there ever was one. I'm surprised it's not more popular. I didn't go with "The Best of Both Worlds" because I saw it a year and a half after it aired and already knew the outcome. I think it's popular because it's Star Trek's first real cliffhanger. I didn't go with "A Call to Arms" either because I wasn't as attached to DS9 as I was to TNG, so there was no "wow" factor.

If the final three (after the two parts) is anything but BOBW, Call to Arms and Zero Hour, I'll be seriously :wtf:
