To all Gears

Ah fuck, the game has the same game killing save delete issue that plagues other Xbox games. I just lost all my progress. Ugh. :(

Wow, just wow.

Here is a pretty funny vid.
I love the Duke Nukum' style one liners.

Last night when I played I got to this one part where Dom says here is a perfect place to work on your sniper skills.
So i start the killin' and Marcus starts counting off, THAT'S ONE! and so on till he gets to five then he says FIVE! THAT'S FIVE MOTHER FUCKERS!!
On six he says "LOOK MA NO FACE!!" I started cracking up.

Just finished Gears 2 this morning and I can say this.
If you are a fan of the first you will dig part 2.

The first game's graphics (IMO) set the bar on what next Gen games should look like.
They were improved in Gears 2.
Complains were made of the lack of story and length of game play from Gears 1, well you get more of both in part 2.

People loved the curb stomp from the first. You get a bunch more unique kills.

You also get a better variety weapon choices and different game play from the first. Riding a Brumack was a blast.

I also found a new addiction in gaming, it's called hoard mode, Way cool.

So like I said if ya liked the first Gears then you won't be disappointed with part 2.

Big on part 3 baby!

I did a little bit of kill grinding early this evening. Played for 15 minutes and got about 2000 kills. Thats 8000 kills an hour, or 12 and half hours getting the full 100,000.

Why would you play a game for 12.5 hours just killing things?

People have found two optimal spots to get kills the second Betsy on rails stage and the Brumak stage right at the beginning. So they just kill and reload the checkpoint.

But, the idea really is to keep playing the game for years and years and eventually you'll get it. Sort of like the 1999 matches of multiplayer thing. Technically, you can do that offline too with bots, but you're really supposed to play forever and ever.

The real problem is that the game is glitchy and you can lose all your progress if your game locks up. Whoops.

I looked up the optimal places to try getting kills, and I really don't see anyone going faster than maybe 10,000 kills an hour (it took me 3 missile blasts to kill everything at the start of the Brumak stage).

I may continue to try to grind my way up to 100,000 kills just to say I've done it. It seems like an achievement that you actually "earn" so to speak. Not like the ones you get just for advancing the story.

So who here thinks they're setting things up with the hints dropped in 2 for GoW3 in a few years?

Locust Queen was NOT what I expected, and the Brumak stage was so freakin' fun. :bolian:

Was it just me, or was the final boss stage a bit underwhelming?
