The only problem is the difference in size between the Constitution and Galaxy classes, which means that there must be two designs of spacedock which are absolutely identical but built to different scales.
One thing I'd like to see at some point is for a reimagining of the Giant Spacedock or Giant Bird of Prey where someone takes the basic shape and detailing of the model, but builds one where all the windows and scale-establishing features fit the larger size. Like, sure, they looked identical to the smaller versions on our old 480i SD over-the-air broadcasts, but in HD, we can see they're actually quite different.
I think the closest that has ever happened was the enlarged section of the Negh'var that was built for some shots of the upscaled Mirror-Universe version in that episode of DS9, which was detailed to the larger size.
The reality is it's not any sort of homage at all: it's just a budget friendly way to realize what the story called for.
It does drive me a little crazy that the video maker thought these were new effects that were just copied after the TSFS shots, as if they were all filmed in-camera, not realizing that the shots are an assemblage of layers, and TNG aligned some of them differently and included an interior lighting pass omitted from the movie (probably because it didn't match what the interior looked like in other shots). Like, you can see it's the same planet, the clouds are the same shape, it's just moved over a little. Trekcore had an article from when the remaster was first done showing the elements from that very shot.
