TNG's blandest episodes

startrekwatcher

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
The ones that aren't bad but not good and you have absolutely no desire to ever rewatch them.

My list would include:
True Q
Birthright II
Force of Nature
Eye of the Beholder
Sub Rosa
Firstborn
Emergence
Bloodlines
The Perfect Mate
The Masterpiece Society

Season 7 was pretty bland. Nobody gave a shit anymore and it shows. Season 5 is very Pepsi Max/Tab Clear in places.

Ethics is pretty bland. The Masterpiece Society is fairly tepid and I've completely forgotten what New Ground is about.

Most of the Geordi and Troi episodes for starters.
I have to disagree. I liked episodes like The Loss(Troi), The Minds Eye(Geordi), Booby Trap(Geordi), The Enemy(Geordi), Interface(Geordi), Face of the Enemy(Troi), The Next Phase(Geordi), I BOrg(Geordi), Identity Crisis to name a few.

COULD DATA BEAT SUPERMAN IN ARM WRESTLING???
WHAT ABOUT A VAMPIRE
WHAT ABOUT BIGFOOT
WHAT ABOUT THE JUGGERNAUGHT
WHAT ABOUT THE HULK
WHAT ABOUT DARTH VADER
WHAT ABOUT HERCULES FROM GREEK MYTHOLOGY
WHAT ABOUT SAMPSON
WHAT ABOUT JOE
JOE MAMMA

I think "The Loss" is the most mind-numbingly boring episode in all of TNG. At least "The Masterpiece Society" had guest stars.

Too many episodes to list!!

"The Loss" was good only for the confrontation scene between Guinan and self-pitying Troi. Even a counsellor should have been able to see that one rolling off Guinan's tongue! :p

You know, unfortunately, the episodes of TNG that meet the criteria of not horrible crap but not really worth watching again are those I forget the titles of simply because of that.

Exactly what I was just thinking. :guffaw:

The boring ones? To this day, I don't have the slightest idea what The Vengeance Factor is about, even though I must have seen it three or four times. I don't think it's got Klingons in, but I think it should do.

Silicon Avatar is another one I just can't get though. And that one where Troi gets oiled up and shags that bloke.

That's probably just as well: Alexander Moves to the Enterprise and some boring engine stuff.

I would include it on my list of bland episodes.

Along with:

Manhunt ..... Lwaxana Troi is horny OMG what a great plot.

Pretty much all of the Klingon episodes: they were done to death and boring as hell. Walking contradictions: the mighty honourable race condones corruption at the highest level of government. They can't take criticism: say one bad about me and I'll murder you.... GROW UP

Any of the episodes involving child centred plots:
Hero Worship
The Bonding
Imaginary Friend
Cost of Living

Most of Season 1 & 2

The Inner Light: who the F cares about an iron weaver who died 1000 years ago?

Inheritance

Journey's End
First Born
Bloodlines
Emergence

Too many to list

``Allegiance'' would earn some special mention here except that nobody has any clear memory of the episode.

"Allegiance" is the least mentioned episode in the TNG forum, although surprisingly, it got mentioned this week! ;)

I watched Allegiance recently. I liked it. Picard leading the crew in a drinking song is awesome, even if it's not really Picard.

^^^

They do.

It's just that they keep forgetting to mention it in a lot of these "Best" or "Worst" episode polls.

"Allegiance" is one of those episodes that get lost in the middle, and people simply forget to mention it. It's one of those episodes that came on during the middle of TNG's run that really has no tangental connection to any of the other episodes due to the fact that most of the reality of what occured on the Enterprise-D was with the "Fake Picard." :borg:
