TNG's blandest episodes

Always enjoyed The Masterpiece Society for some reason. Tend to agree that almost everything focussed on Troi is bland, with the exception of Face of the Enemy.

Galaxy's Child springs to mind as another one that does nothing for me.

I'm going to nominate "The Perfect Mate" from season 5. There's only so much Famke Janssen can do for me.

Tough question, because I love TNG and that might color some of the more bland episodes, but if I had to pick one or two, I'd have to say:

"Sub Rosa" - I love the idea of Beverly Crusher getting hot n' heavy, but not at the expense of my sanity, or on the back cover of a dime store romance novel.

"Aquiel" - God, I hated that episode. I've watched it three times in my life and every time it's, "WHY!? WHY?! WHY are you watching THIS?!" *ahem* Sorry. :o

I just watched Aquiel for the 2nd time ever yesterday. I never want to see that again. Not sure why...

Maybe because it SUCKS, that one and "The Price" are the two I turn off along with Sub Rosa,

Pretty much all of season 1 and 2. Shades of Grey is the blandest though.
Every Troi episode is utterly monotonous. As is her character in general.

While I agree that S2 was very bland the style and theme of S1 is total different, if not TOS it was TOS lite and that was the closest thing to ST in TNG

I hate to be a troll, but this is one of those questions best asked and answered in the negative: which episodes weren't bland? There are about 15 that qualify.

I was happy to see someone list "The Inner Light," TNG's most overrated hour. (TOS's is "City on the Edge of Forever" and, even so, that episode is great, just not the greatest. "The Inner Light" is a snore.)

you got that right
