@Borjis, would you mind refreshing my memory about the "Yesterday's Enterprise" uniform? Aside from an imposing-military belt, I can't think of anything special about that uniform.

The collars are different. instead of a gap in the center they kind of merge together.

And the sleeves have a black cuff.

The solid black collar with department trim and the cuffs were part of some of Blackman's original sketches for a redo of the Theiss uniforms. Like any artist, Blackman found a place to recycle abandoned ideas.

The BEST looking Star Trek uniforms were the early Next Generation male dress uniforms: long frock coats and tight leggings. They were impressive!

(Actually the best were Old Series mini-skirts of course.)

The type A-1s are horrid. They are clunky and horribly 90s. The type As are alright, but I could never see anything like those actually being worn in space. As for being 80s, well, that's part of their charm. The type B-1s are generic. The type Bs are... realistic.

For me, I always liked the TNG uniforms from Seasons 3-7 and the DS9 uniforms from Seasons 5-7. Never cared for the uniforms from Seasons 1 and 2 of TNG. And I didn't like the early DS9/Voyager uniforms either.

Agree or disagree with the different TNG uniforms, but can we all come to some agreement that it seemed like they could never figure out what do to with Admiralty uniform styles?

The early ones seemed to me like they really had no idea what do to with them other than to add lots of decoration "stuff" to them to make them stand out.

I did like the tunic style adopted later on.

Season 3 (with seams in jacket)

This has always been my favorite, with the seams. I do like the later season DSN/TNG movie uniforms, too, but I always liked the tailoring of these, as they have a simpler paramilitary style. That plus the pips gives them a minimalist look. I always liked the Maquis brevet ranks, though used in VOY.

My favourite are the early DS9 uniforms, always thought they looked the best.

Yes mine too! They are tops! :) I like the purple undershirt, the circle badge and the little flaps on the top of the suit! I used to have a book called the Making of Star Trek Deep Space Nine and it showed pictures of various sketches of uniforms for the show. This one and the one that looked like the Wil Wheaton Starfleet Acadamy black jumpers were my favorites!

The purple shirt was the one thing that bothered me

Overall I liked the DS9/VOY uniform, but I feel like the undershirt would have been better off being black or perhaps the their branch color.

I can understand that since it is so strange that they chose to make it purple. After DEEP SPACE season 3 and for VGR it looked less purple and more grey. But it does seem quite an odd choice for the color of the undershirt.:guffaw:
