TNG should have done a mirror universe episode

Glad they did not go there. TOS MU had a point with Kirk's talk to MU Spock. Not a fan of DS9's MU eps. Enterprise was a bit better. Disco was not campy and that was a plus.

However, I don't like MU or time travel as the premise of the show (Ent) or a season (Disc).

FWIW, Mirrir U Troi would have ruled. She could tell what everyone was thinking & she would have used her Betazoid "appetites" to rule the men.

TNG went pseudo MU all the time with Data/Lore (and later Tasha/daughter).

The novel Dark Mirror was very good, and because it was produced before DS9's Mirror Universe episodes, it doesn't even follow those stories.
A fantastic read. The description of the Mirror Enterprise-D is chilling. It's not just the same ship with a different logo.

just curious.... do the inhabitants of the mirror universe think of our universe as their 'mirror universe' as well?

They shouldn't. It honors the show that they didnt tell "Psychopaths in Space" stories with Trek characters. I never cared for that one bit - those episodes where wasted time for me, spend better with something else.

Mirror!TNG would have been silly, and while it's a fun sort of silly, and one the cast would do great with, its not what they wanted. Yesterday's Enterprise was that, practically.

Mirror!Troi was just Emma Frost.

Looking at TNG Mirror Universe books and comics, this would've been something to see live.

I read the recent comic series. It's in continuity with DS9, because while the Terran empire was defeated, they were not totally conquered. They have been penned up in the Sol system ever since (we don't know the exact year). Any humans outside have no idea there is still any of the Terran Empire left.

Ever since Mirror Mirror every visit to the Mirror universe has made it worse.
Yeah, I was not a fan of the DS9 mirror episodes (thankfully they were few) The Enterprise mirror episode was pretty decent though. I think the original concept of them doing an entire season set in the mirror universe could have been fun (like seeing the crew kill each other off as the season went on) You could have had Mayweather at the top of it all by the end, because it's always the quiet one. It probably would have done terribly on it's initial run (Oh the boards were so full of hate back then) but I think 10 years down the road it would have been enjoyed.

I think it's funny that while apparently everything is mirrored, same people end up on the same ship. :)

I think it's good that they didn't do Mirror Universe stuff with TNG and shouldn't have done MU with DS9 eiher, it was cool in TOS but somehow it didn't work later in DS9.

DS9 isn't disagreeable. But that take was kind of the Star Trek version of Star Wars.
