Yeah, I actually just watched the episode yesterday, and just pulled up the scene on Netflix:
"Part of her aging program. Not only does she age in appearance like Data, her vital signs change too."
Wow, I'm definitely rewatching the episode both in original and French version soon !

Riker the character was conceived as a swashbuckling Kirk wannabe. As an older man I would expect him to at least try to stay in shape and not be paunchy with sloppy uncombed thinning hair.
As for Marina Sirtis, the term "pickled" is more of a euphamism for whatever nips and tucks she may have done to cheat father time.
You didn't. Dorn was approached, but turned it down.
Maybe they could do a mini series (limited series) with a crossover like they do in Star Trek pockets books, set 30+ years after the events of Nemesis.
Or after the latest Star Trek lit stories. With a TNG, Titan, DS9 and Voyager crossover.

Just as a thought, but if they do give Picard front and centre role in a mini series, I hope they use the tune from Inner Light as title theme.
I love this idea... I know, I know... There are a myriad of pitfalls that could sink this whole thing into one big fan boy wank, but if done right, this could be really good.. It doesn't even have to involve the Enterprise. Surely the E is still in service at this point, but the show isn't about the ship. It's the people..
I can see a 77 year old Picard settling into serving as an ambassador following a brief stint in the admiralty.. Picard is a convener.. His specialty is negotiation... Riker, who now too has moved on to serving in the admiralty after meritorious service as captain of the Titan, has discovered some kind of plot/intrigue against the Federation and with Deanna by his side, approaches his old mentor for help in uncovering it. Think along the lines of the first TNG season with the internal plot against the Federation by that alien race that basically took out the entire chain of Starfleet Command... But on a bigger scale. Riker and Troi now have a son or daughter who is just now poised to be entering Star Fleet academy and because he/she is her/his parent's child, is a bit a a swashbuckler too and discovers the plot extends to the academy itself.
There would be plenty of ways to bring in the old cast of characters, for certainly they'll need to enlist Worf to help battle this from the Klingon side of things, along with his son who now commands a battle fleet. Wesley could have a role as well.. Perhaps he's now back with his own command (not the Big E, because that would be too contrived), but perhaps a science vessel since that's what he always excelled at. Beverly is high up in Star Fleet Medical at this point, and frankly, I can see Janeway as Commander, Star Fleet.. It could be done..

As I said, call me when you've aged 25 years in adulthood and let me know how your before and after pictures compare. What we try to do about our appearance doesn't always yield the results we desire. Father Time frequently has other ideas.
Honestly, I'd love a TNG cartoon so bad ! With the characters being voiced by the original actors !
But the line doesn't work because it ignores already establishes facts:
Around 2336:
Data is constructed by Soong.
2338:
Data found by the U.S.S. Tripoli crew.
2341:
Data admitted into Starfleet Academy.
2364:
Data is assigned to the Enterprise.
Which means, since Data ages as Brent ages, Data should have been younger in appearance when on the Enterprise, so obviously the android aging part can be controlled and Data isn't simply just aging at a regular rate. And since Lore was created first, for example, Lore should have been older, yet he wasn't (and was Lore designed to age, too?).
That one line is completely inconsistent with virtually everything we know about Data. Especially since we see Data in AGT and he hadn't aged at all. And if that were the case, then Spiner wouldn't have felt the need to kill Data off in Nemesis because Spiner the actor would age normally but Data wouldn't.
That's pretty much my thought. I'll still rewatch the episode (lol, like if I needed a reason ! ) but I think that line about Data aging doesn't respect continuity.

Lore wasn't active for as long though. If he did have the program, I doubt it would work if he was inactive.
I think what he meant was that if Data looked exactly like Brent Spiner from 1987, even when he was built in 2336 (since Lore was built around the same time and also looks like Brent Spiner from 1987), then by the time Data served on the Enterprise, he should have looked 28 year older than Lore. But he doesn't.
Well, in that case, you could easily assume that he was designed to look like Soong did at a particular age, and for aging to only set in when Data had been active for that length of time. He was expected to fit in with humans after all. Obviously, Spiner did age throughout the series, and films, and that does show (particularly in the films). So to me, his unchanged appearance in AGT is the outlier here.
Except nowhere in the show or movies was that stated or even implied. As a matter of fact, there was an episode (I can't recall which at the moment) where Data speaks of outliving his friends and having to make new ones in the future. That would not be the case if he had a finite lifespan because of an aging process.
But the line only says that Data ages in appearance, not that it affects his abilities, or gives an indication of internal deterioration. The line was obviously added specifically to address the aging if Spiner, and no further detail was given. I suspect they intended it to mean whatever they felt necessary afterwards.
My point is that there is a line that states Data ages in appearance, and based on what we see in screen, he does. (There wasn't much of a way around that, as people do age). Therefore, there would no issue with Data appearing, but looking older.
So you're saying that even though Data would still function normally 500 years from now, he'd look like a 500 year old man?
