TNG on Blu-ray

You mean a recut of Nemesis that was actually good? Does such a thing exist?
The God Thing once suggested this as a Director's Cut, and I have to say, his idea has some merit...

The God Thing said:
Having just seen Nemesis for the first time, I am in total agreement that the film urgently needs a Director's Cut. The director needs to be urgently cut up with a chainsaw, along with the original camera negatives and all extant cinema prints and home video releases.

The scene in the new lounge, the scene of Troi in the turbo-lift, the extension of Picard & Beverly's first heart to heart, The 'saving the last dance' bit, the first Shinzon scene, parts of the Wesley/wedding scene (not including Wesley), and especially the Data/Picard wine scene.

I wouldn't add back the alternate ending.

Yeah, I like the movie and think those would help.

Now some hater can come and mock the film because it's fun to do.

Just hope that they don't screw them up like they did the TOS movies. With the exception of Khan, all the TOS Blu-Rays are plagued with MASSIVE DNR that wipes all of the nice HD detail from the picture.

Digital Noise Reduction. Unfortunately, in the hands of an unskilled technician it can wind up being Digital Nuance Reduction, as was the case with several of the TOS films as ManaByte pointed out.

I think I see. With skill it can sharpen the detail, with nonskill it can wipe out details altogether. Do I have that right? I once saw some footage of Metropolis where they tried to remove noise from the picture, but in spots it actually erased the legs of characters when they started walking.

Basically... Not done right, it essentially washes out all the fine details like skin textures or fabrics. So while people and objects tend to have very sharp edges, they end up lacking texture.

Unless there is something they add to the releases that makes it worth my time & money (like a director's cut of Nemesis, as has already been mentioned) I won't be buying this. I already own all the movies on dvd.....there's really no point to me buying them all over again on blu-ray if there's no effort being made by the studio.

Which of course takes away the whole point of adding realism.
