Thanks!
Patrick,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you took the Ent-D's Captain's yacht as the inspiration for this runabout. If so, that's a pretty darn cool idea

Looking forward to more updates!
Indeed it was. And I considered this a possible captain's gig, but it is a little large. Though not out of the realm of possibility.
This would have been great as the E-D captain's yacht! Surely there would have been some way to hide the nacelles inside the saucer section so we couldn't see them while it was docked.
Nonetheless, the DS9 runabout WAS next generation era!
Agreed. And while the E-D had plenty of room for it, it's not a small ship.
I like this smoother version. It is a great design.
Thanks!
How does this ship compare, size-wise, to the DS9 Runabout? The DS9 ships seemed to cram compartments and equipment into every cubic inch of the ship, IIRC.
The runnabout's dimensions are given to be 23.1 metres long, 13.7 metres wide, and 5.4 metres high.
This vessel is 37 metres long, 27.5 metres wide, and 8 metres high- another 1.5 metres higher with the landing gear down.
In an earlier shot of the interiour, I've devoted a fair amount of space for a 5 member crew.

2 people in each aft cabin on staked enclosed bunk beds inspired by the runnabout. 1 larger room for the commander. 1 common room. The working part of the ship looks spacious above, but I have since put in a transporter pad, work stations, and changed the M/AM reaction chamber completely.
I'm presently working on landing pads and an extended door.
I'm also considering small phaser emitters, but the location is based on the available space.
I still need a class name and what kind of tasks this ship is suited for.
