TNG Complete Series Set on DVD 10/2

Let this be a lesson to you all: wait a couple years or so before buying sets of any TV series of popalar movie; they will only double dip you later.

Don't they realize how much more money they'd make if they sold TREK disc sets for a reasonable price?

They sold the original TNG sets at $100+ for years and people bought them. That's not being insane...that's being smart. They are making plenty of money.

The prices for TNG and the other series got dropped after they'd been on the market for a while and they'd gotten as many takers at that price point as they could expect.

You might not like it, but that is a very smart decision for Paramount.
Wrong roliver,

That was a dumb move on Paramount's part, leaving only the hardest of the hardcore Star Trek fans to buy the TNG DVDs in 2002, while leaving everyone else (like myself) to buy them USED, so Paramount did not end up getting my money or from other people who bought them from the USED market.

And knowing that a lot of us fans could not afford to buy those expensive TNG DVD sets (some of those boxes collecting dust on shelves, year-after-year.), they finally decided to come out with the FAN COLLECTIVES last year to make up for those expensive boxes. Why come out with FAN COLLECTIVES, when those expensive TNG DVD sets were selling off the shelves like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer?" Well, because they weren't, so they came up with an alternative with the FAN COLLECTIVES while at the same time lowering the price of those TNG DVD sets.

But considering a lot of fans got fed up with waiting for the price of those TNG DVD sets to go down year-after-year-after-year, well we said "Fuck you, Viacom suits!" because we moved onto other shows like BSG, Lost, Heroes, etc. in the intervening years, and have no time to revisit TNG presently while viewing all these other genre shows out there right now. Paramount missed the boat. If those TNG DVD sets went on sale for $50 in 2002 (or even in 2003, at the latest), a lot more people would have bought them. A LOT MORE. But, not now. :vulcan:

It think thats a pretty good point you just made.
If it weren't for the ridiculas prices, then I would have every season of Star Trek on my shelf, but as it is I don't.

I only have season one of TOS after it came down to around sixty dollars, and earlier this year picked up DS9 for fifty dollars.

If only Paramount sold them at reasonble prices, then they would of had me buying the sets as they came out.

I bet people who didn't want to spend over one hundred dollars on these sets probably downloaded them off of P2P or Bittorrent.

When I bought the entire TNG series on DVD, I think I paid over 700 bucks for it on Amazon. That was many years ago, and I’m still glad I own all of TNG. It might have been too much, but I can watch any episode of TNG anytime I want and have been able to do so for years.
