Contest: ENTER TNG Caption This! #458: Honorable Example

TNGCaption280a.jpg

K'Ehleyr: I think I wore your cup by mistake.
Worf: Well that explains why I have to sit hard to starboard.

TNGCaption280b.jpg

Picard: I like your flail.
Troi: I think it's some kind of a mace.
Geordi: No, it's a war club.
Yar: Maybe it's a morning star.
Picard: No, it has too many spiky things on it.
Troi: That's it - it's a spiky flail.
Geordi: Hm, she's wielding a spiked mace more like.
Troi: But clearly you're supposed flail your arms to wield it.
Yar: But I'm not wielding it, I'm wearing it. Like a glove.
Picard: Or a prophylactic from hell.
Geordi: At any rate it looks really wieldy.
Troi: I think you mean unwieldy, Geordi.
Geordi: No - isn't that one of those words whose opposite means the same thing, like, like -
Picard: Flammable and inflammable?
Geordi: No....
Troi: I think he means one word with opposite meanings, like...cleave? Is it a cleaver?
Picard: No, he means a contronym - that is one word that you say differently with different meanings, like "resign" and "re-sign".
Troi: Isn't that a homograph?
Picard: I thought that was when you have one word with two meanings, like when you sanction an award as opposed to awarding a sanction.
Geordi: No, a homograph is that picture of the guy in a skant.
Yar: And I thought I was the one flailing today.

TNGCaption280c.jpg

Data:
Order in the court!
Picard: Yes I will have the pan bagnat with Starkist Chicken-of-the-Sea and olives, a salade Lyonniase, and for the pièce de résistance, un coq au vin, if the vin is of my eponymous vintage.
Data: Where do I even start. Château Douchebag?

TNGCaption280d.jpg

Satie: Captain Picard, is it true that a morning star and a spiked flail are very nearly the same thing? And I remind you that you are under oath.
Picard: Well I'm no expert, but I think, that is, perhaps...
Satie: Or are you taking the position that a double-ball flail and a flanged mace are virtually the same thing?? Whats next, a heavy warhammer is tantamount to a footman's flail? Well? Well??
Picard: I believe it was Judge Aaron Satie who said that a twin-spiked ball flail is nothing but a war mallet with an inferiority complex....
Satie: How dare you use his words to subvert the Medieval Armorer's Society Guild of Pointy Battle Weaponry! I have brought down bigger archaic hand-smithed weapon aficianados than you, Picard!

TNGCaption280e.jpg

Haftel: No, you sheath a dagger. You scabbard a sword.
Picard: What about a machete?
Haftel: This is why the admiralty hates you.

Worf: No Mr Data, I will not ask the Captain why he happened to have these uniforms readily to hand from his own wardrobe.

TNGCaption280b.jpg

Crosby: Yeah, you suckers can stay with this lame duck, with my amazing keep fit headband I'll be a shoe in for the Britass Empire.

TNGCaption280c.jpg

Picard: Before we begin the court case that might decide the entire fate of the planet, I just have to ask where you got those tapestries from. They're just to die for!

TNGCaption280d.jpg

Picard: This chair needs wheels.

TNGCaption280e.jpg

Admiral: I don't get this game, the birds seem to be hardly angry at all.

Just have to say, Laura from the Brittas Empire would have been excellent casting for Yar's sister. In fact, when she stands next to the short haired assistant girl in that show, it's like a Yar family reunion. For this reason, 20 years of 'doesnt she look like Yar' in my head has been brought up, and I felt a need to congratulate you.
Probably a damned obscure reference these days too.

Science Officer's Log *cough*jadzia*cough* I'm worried about Worf. He has been spending a lot of time in the holosuites. He said he was homesick. I figured he was talking about Gault or Minsk. But Quark said it was a simulation of the Enterprise. I'm not sure if I should be worried if I checked on him or not.

TNGCaption280a.jpg

K'ELYHR: So, Data is my second officer.
WORF: Correct.
K'ELYHR: So, if we are pretending Klingons are in charge of this ship, if I do not perform my duty, it is Data's duty to kill me.
DATA: I will perform my duties to the best of my abilities.

TNGCaption280b.jpg

PATRICK STEWART: Get rid of the spike glove Denise. We're canning this episode.
DENISE CROSBY: Why?
PATRICK STEWART: Time travel eventually gets discovered by a Trekkie. This is the first thing he chose to come back and do.

TNGCaption280c.jpg

PICARD: *psst* Data, I need to ask a favor. If you are deciding to rule for us, can you first rule for her and then reverse it in a few hours?
DATA: But why, sir?
PICARD: Ardra is actually kind of hot.
DATA: Understood.

TNGCaption280d.jpg

PICARD: You all saw that right. You all saw that? I'VE TAKEN DOWN BIGGER MEN THAN YOU PICAARRD! I know it was a dramatic moment that may have preserved the character of the Federation, but I can not believe I actually kept a straight face!

TNGCaption280e.jpg

ADMIRAL: What? Yes, Data is a person with rights, and yes, we are just going to take his daughter away from him. I don't see the contradiction here!

TNGCaption280c.jpg

Picard: "Permission to go to the bathroom?"

Data: "Denied."

TNGCaption280d.jpg

Evil Picard: "Yes, yeeesssss. Thank you all for coming. Let's begin, shall we? Computer, play Crossed Legs by Jerry Goldsmith....."

TNGCaption280e.jpg

"Mr. Data is correct, Captain Picard... you sank his battleship."

"Excellent."

.

Data: "Captain, you really, REALLY do not want to complain to the chef."

Picard: "Mr. Data, I simply wish to explain that my risotto had no pumpkin in... "

Ramsay: "Is this the French pig that wants to complain?"

.

TNGCaption280b.jpg

Yar: "Permission to go Sweatin' it to the '80's?"

Picard: "Granted. Computer, activate program Simmons69. Increase bodily oil by 30%."

I'm just pleased even one person got that!

Enterprise%20Tonight_zpsmqjx79bk.png

DATA: Next on the Enterprise Tonight, Jean Luc Picard will share his expertise on Klingon honor and culture.
WORF: Wait,,,,what!!!!!!!

TNGCaption280b.jpg

TASHA: Sir, I dont think waxing the shuttles is part of Tactical training.
PICARD: Wax on. Wax off.

TNGCaption280a.jpg

Michael Dorn finally got Captain Worf produced.

TNGCaption280b.jpg

Denise Crosby: So, this is the only episode where I'm the main character this season?
Other three: Yep.
Denise Crosby: I'm outta here.

TNGCaption280c.jpg

Picard: Come on Data, throw me a bone.
Data: I do not see what giving you a bone would do for you.

TNGCaption280d.jpg

Patrick Stewart: Look at me, I have the best career out of this cast.

TNGCaption280e.jpg

Picard: Are you evil too?
Haftel: What?
Data: I apologize, but every time an admiral is on this ship, they turn out to be evil and/or corrupt.
