Scotty: Clearly, put a backup sensor into the unit.

Decker: Admiral Kirk! We're getting a top brass sendoff. She'll launch on schedule if we have to tow her out with our bare hands, right, Scotty?

 

[LeadHead]

Scotty: Aye, that we will Sir!

 

[DeVario]

KIRK: Let's talk.

 

[LeadHead]

Decker: Sure, let me know when that back-up is ready.

 

[DeVario]

SCOTTY: Aye, sir.

 

[LeadHead]

Decker: Respectfully Sir, I really hope this isn't some sort fo Starfleet pep talk, I'm really too busy.

 

[DeVario]

KIRK: I'm taking over the center seat, Will.

 

[LeadHead]

Decker: You're what?

 

[DeVario]

KIRK: I'm replacing you as Captain of the Enterprise. You'll stay on as Executive Officer; temporary grade reduction to Commander.

 

[LeadHead]

Decker: You personally are assuming Command?

 

[DeVario]

KIRK: Yeah.

 

[LeadHead]

Decker: May I ask why?

 

[Captain Mike]

KIRK: My experience..5 years out there dealing with unknowns like this,...my famaliarity with the Enterprise,...it's crew....

 

[S'kai]

DECKER: Admiral, this an almost totally new Enterprise. You don't know her half as well as I do.

 

[Captain Mike]

KIRK: That's why you're staying aboard. (takes two steps forward)............I'm ..sorry Will

 

[DeVario]

DECKER: No, Admiral. I don't think you're sorry. Not one damn bit. I remember when you recommended me for this command. You told me how envious you were, and how much you'd hoped to get a starship command again. Well, sir, it looks like you found a way.

 

[Turbo]

Damn you, DeVario!

Kirk: Report to the bridge, Commander. Immediately.

 

[CoveTom]

DECKER: Aye, sir.

 

[Turbo]

Scotty gives Kirk a wistful look, when suddenly sparks fly from the console behind him.

Engineer: Transporter room, come in, urgent! Red line on the transporter, Mr. Scott.
