I don't want an "improved" show I want a GREAT show. I'm not emotionally invested in stargate , theirs no umbilical cord between me an stargate.

I don't want less boredom I want SUSPENSE and Action
I don't want... some drama.... I want LOTS of drama
I want characters to like and characters to hate.

If that's not on the menu then I don't need to be at the Stargate Bistro. I'll go down to Dancing with the Stars, NCIS or CIS Miami for a good meal. I don't have to be an obscessed fan of Stargate...I'd liked to be but my fandom isn't a drug addiction... it's an acquired taste for Sci Fi and Stargate used to be a Fine merlot and now...now it's a ZIMA.

See, I never liked Stargate at all until SGU. I always thought it was too cheesy... not my style of Sci-Fi. I've always though this new one has potential and it caught my interest but it has had some serious problems.

Now, it's starting to get legs, I think, so I am hoping I get the show I want out of it. I don't want anything like the previous stargates because I'll just quit watching... But more of an action/drama? That's I'm all over!

And that's okay if you like SGU. Someone's go to. But it won't be mee untill they make serious changes.

I didn't get into SG-1 until SGA and found out how good a series Stargate is. it's escapism and while it can be cheesy it's not cornball...like Battle Beyond the Stars, or Spaceballs or Dr. Who. (new series) or even Farscape.

Stargate was fun action and adventure and it has comedy and realism mixed in and did a great job with plots. SGU hasn't done that...it hasn't achieved any "realism" in it's plots...it's a pretense, its contrivance and plot holes.

When a show says I AM ACTION ADVENTURE AND COMEDY...
I want to see action adventure and comedy

If a show says I AM REALISTIC DRAMA
I want to see realistic drama...SGU doesn't live up to what it says it is and that doesn't float my boat.

Felt similar to the OP, but I liked Eli. I dropped the show after the "Earth" ep in season 1. Recently just went through the rest because I needed something to watch and the second half of season 1 has got me interested in the show again. I like YOung and Greer. Rush has grown more on me. Scott...I'm still on the fence about. Can't stand TJ and Chloe and Wray I'm starting to like more in season 2 rather than her role in season 1.

Probably won't be a popular opinion, but I like all the characters. It's nice to see a sci-fi series with such flawed people. I know it's nothing new, since BSG is an obvious influence on SGU. Still, I look forward to the character drama as much as I do the story for every episode.
