I've always felt that if a show has a full opening, the music and visuals should herald its high concepts. In the case of Star Trek, wonderment and a quickening of the explorative spirit. Discovery's intro has a playful mystique along with fabulous artistry, but don't feel the theme fully lifts or resolves itself.

Anyhow, here's an edited intro with a theme that has more of a triumphant feel. Not saying it's better - just had some fun with it.

Personally, I like the theme that we got, but this was really good. Did you compose the music yourself?

Oh, gosh, no. It's Wing Commander's (film) Overture by David Arnold!

Nice music choice (though somewhat of a not too great film)

Well done, but I don't think them music's that much more distinctive sounding than what we got IMO, just rooted in more romanticism and bombast.
