I agree, "catamaran"-style nacelles would look better in this case.

Yeah, the hex pods looked great on the ship... a nice way to bring the design a bit more current.
The high-res pics are great and the hexagonal shape is a sound approach because hey make better use of the internal space and they distribute the pressure more evenly (e.g., honeycombs).
As for the other topic (B, D, catamarans, ...), seems like we´re in agreement once again.

I was also thinking if I'd won having hex pods might give me a ginchy chance to redesign the escape pod. It would be the same... but different. I also wanted to redesign the shuttlecraft a bit. I don't know if anyone noticed, but I purposefully tried to evoke the nacelle shapes of Admiral Janeway's future shuttle. The actual finished product was a bit of a cross between the Prometheus nacelles and those.
