Titan - Animated CGI?

Just been watching The Clone Wars again and was thinking about how that might look for a new series of Trek. I thought Riker, Troi and the crew of the U.S.S. Titan done in stylised CGI would be a good option.

Would anyone else want to watch that, or is it just me?

I'm finding the Titan novels painfully dull. To have to read (or see) about Melora floating around in her holographic bubble one more time would make me pull my hair out.

So... no.

I was thinking more a completely new crew and missions. I too find the Titan books very tedious. My thoughts were on having an established character(s) on a new ship with their own mission and Riker and Troi were the first that sprung to mind. It could be anyone really.

Was just a stray thought.

Was just a stray thought

Well stop that

Seriously, I haven't read a ST novel in about 15 years, so I might be as jaded as some towards any particular characters or series of books.

If done well, it could be interesting. Certainly better than the nothing we have right now.

I actually liked some of the Titan novels, so I would definitely give it a shot - I miss my 24th century Trek :techman:

The First couple of books for the series were out right boring but there was a interesting factor but they were hard to follow. Christopher L Bennett actually managed to keep my attention in his book so I could identify all the aliens on board.

Dusty Ayres, it might have something to do with the fact that you posted your feeling in an open forum. You think?

I think you're referring to me here, not Dusty Ayres. And so what if it's an open forum? I just said I didn't want to see Riker and Troi anymore. So fucking what? If you really need an explanation from me, fine. I didn't like that they brought Troi in at the end of Voyager, and I really didn't like Riker and Troi in the finale of ENTERPRISE. Happy now?

Now, getting back to the OP:

There's nothing inherently wrong with the idea of a Titan TV series. It's just that I really don't think the present ST viewing audience, or any non-Trek fan audience, is going to care that much about R&T. It's been shown pretty clearly that they care about Kirk and Spock, not Riker and Troi.
