Tin-man's GASSER

We were watching that strange episode TIN MAN last night. Its actually a very interesting episode. It grows on me each time I see it..

But I swear, at the end, when TIN MAN 'explodes' they lifted the same light effects when V'gr 'exploded' at the end of TMP. Did anyone else notice this???

I thought this thread was going to be about the Tin Man interior sound effects.

I noticed the TMP homage the first time I saw this episode. I think the sequence in Lonely Among Us where Picard tries to take over the ship is supposed to be a TMP homage as well.

Shameless gratuitous FX recycling. Didn't hurt the episode though, I thought it was great. They made Tin Man too powerful though. What were 2 Romulan ships going to do even if they managed to get close to it? The creature would still fire that flash energy weapons and pulverize them anyway.

maybe the romulans didn't know how powerful it was...but then again, I found the Romulans the weakest element of the episode. I just hate the makeup TNG created for the Romulans (and Vulcans)....silly

Of course, I noticed it on the preview of the episode from the week before!

Talking of 'gasser': The sound effects heard inside Tin Man are actually a recording of some guy digesting the pizza he just ate.

I was wondering when someone would bring that up..and hence the title of the thread..score two points for you!!! wink wink..

Does Tin Man/Gomtuu get gas, though? Hmmm!

On a more serious note, would Gomtuu accept a replacement crew of, say, Starfleet officers to give it a new purpose? Imagine how interesting that would have been to have the travels of Gomtuu be the basis of a future ST show.

That could've been interesting!

Should've been Riker's command! -- RR

Would Gomtuu let Deanna take the helm?

I don't know if that would work. Gomtuu seems to respond only to telepaths, so any Starfleet crew would probably have to be only Betazoids and Vulcans -which would be kind of an odd combination.
