"Tin Man" the worst episode of TNG ever?

Status
Not open for further replies.
Haha "Shades of Grey" shouldn't have happened. NONE of the characters were developed enough to do a recap show of Riker memories. "Tin Man" was NOT the worst episode by any stretch (I actually rather liked it).

The WORST two episodes in TNG are
"Remember me" and
"Sub Rosa"

I challenge ANYBODY to tell me otherwise.

Tin Man wasn't that bad. It wasn't the best episode ever, but it definately wasn't the worst. I believe that title is reserved for "Masks" in Season 7.

"sub rosa" makes "masks" look like "yesterday's enterprise"....

floating at the bottom of the enterprise-D crapper:

"i, borg"
"imaginary friend"
"rascals"
"sub rosa"

A lot of people seem to not care for episodes I think if nothing else are at least entertaining if you don't set out to find flaws in them--Rascals for one. Shades of Grey isn't bad. I thought the framing was nice, Troi's concern for Riker was well done. But then again my more favorable take might have to do with it being tied to when I first saw it that it has carried through for me.

Episodes I would rank as weak would be stuff like Birthright II, True Q, Masks, Emergence, Force of Nature, Sub Rosa.

don't know why you don't like it

sounds like u don't like tos either

tin man is one of the best tng of all seasons

Where'd you get that idea, newb?

And a bit of friendly advice, this ain't Myspace. Try writing out entire words and ideas.

I love TOS more than any other Trek series. DS9 is a close second.

OT: Again, I have to ask, WHERE are these crazy-ass newbie names coming from? Sometimes they just run a line of consonants together and call it a username. Whatever happened to message board creativity?

creativity was what was in Tinman, a good scifi story with strong characters driving it - one of my favorites

OK; I'll bite. Remember Me was one of the better TNG episodes. It was a creative script that was well-produced. It was intriguing.

UWC, was the Vega 9 interstellar probe that detected Gomtuu orbiting Beta Stromgren named for the star Alpha Lyrae or in honor of the two Soviet VeGa Venus/Halley's Comet flyby probe missions launched in 1984? :)

I don't think Tin Man is the worst episode. I remember liking it when I first saw it. I mean, it certainly wouldn't make my top ten or anything, but I never harbored any negative feelings toward the episode. Tam's outfit is a hoot, though. I'd say the only thing that annoyed me about the ep was Tam's "no one understands me!" attitude. I get what that was supposed to be about, but for some reason he came off sounding like an angry 15 year-old.

Superman, I asked earlier that there be no disucssions of posters, but instead their post content. Unless you want a warning, you will stop this type of posting now.

You're off base here, buddy. Our pal Kal was discussing the content of a poorly worded post. Further, his "Zing" comment is obviously directed at the content of the previous post. It is a zinger, and I'm not talking about those tasty snack cakes with ths same name.

Okay? Noting to see here. Trim those sails. It's all friendly and above board.

Secondly, if you have ideas or comments on my moderating, I would appreciate it if it was in a PM, not here.

So, for the last time, yall can either settle down and discuss the subject, or I can lock the thread.

So, it's okay for you to call Kal out in public, but if anyone dares to besmirch you with something, it needs to be via PM? Is there any reason why you couldn't afford Kal the same courtesy that you expect for yourself?
