So this is how they're doing it.

No word yet on whether Paul McGann or David Tennant (or another actor) is appearing.

Okay, I'll defend to the death the rights of folks to make silly posts - especially if the posts are actually entertaining - but I am also Officially Tired Of This Shit.

Time Travel is in the eye of the beholder, whether its some kind of donut or an old police call box.

Let's talk about what kind of underwear they're wearing in this new film!!

This is crucial info we must know!!

I am in complete agreement.

Well, why don't you call Abrams and let him know he needs to start leaking some stuff so we actually have something to talk about? Alternatively, you can get a script summery by saying that you're Harlan Ellison and you want to make sure none of your other Very Special Ideas are being used in the movie, since you have yet to receive your Gigantic Truckloads Of Money.

Same here.
This one wasn't even clever.

On the other hand, it amazes me that we're at a point in existance where Trek has been laid low for years, and Doctor Who is the monster that cant be touched. Amazing I tell ya.

Back in 1993 when I first started watching Doctor Who, I never would have thought we'd be at that point.

Time travel has gotten old as shit in TREK in recent years, but if they're using the classic Guardian of Forever I can tolerate it this time around. At least the creators have finally after all these decades gone back to "City..." and reused an element from it for a new story.

But Harlen Ellison said the "Guardian" isn't in the film.
I wonder has he seen the script? Or maybe the check finally cleared?

If people are going to post something as a parody or joke, perhaps they should put a little bit, just a shred, just the teeniest sliver of creativity into it.

We still have something like 4,373 users on TrekBBS who have not opened their own personal thread where they say "pic of something from the trek XI movie" and they post a picture of something that has nothing to do with trek xi.

If I counted the number of threads where that's been done, it would give me a nosebleed!

This had potential to be funny, but, sorry, it needs more than a picture of a TARDIS, imo :(

Ellison SAYS the Guardian isn't in the film. But if Paramount slips him enough dough to use his concept he'll let them. That's really all he cares about...the money. He'd let the studio turn the Guardian of Forever into a giant disco ball with a hole in the middle if they paid him enough to shut up.

The way I see it, if you're going to build a time machine out of a car, why not do it with some style?
